what seeds to buy?

I am a first time grower, and plan on starting in the fall. I saw a good article on this website that asks you a series of questions to help figure out what seeds to buy. the problem is it didn't give you any input on what to buy after you answered the questions. that's where i need your help. I'll answer the questions and you guys comment and give me your advice on what seeds you would buy based on your experience.
I plan on growing indoors.
I prefer a sativa strain. I enjoy the "head high" and the energy it brings. I am aware it takes longer but i find the time will be worth it.
I would also be open to hybrids up to 50/50. not really looking for an incan dominated strain unless you really recommend it
the next question is "how potent do you want it?" Obviously I would like it as potent as possible. I want my friends to love my pot just as much as I do!
My price range is anywhere below 100$ on some seeds. so quite high.
overall yeild is important to me. clearly i would like more bud, but would be willing to sacrifice quantity for good quality bud.
Odor or smell is not a concern. I have extensive ventilation plans to counteract the smell, and keep the grow hidden from sight for that matter.
Taste is not important. I prefer a nice high over taste, but if it taste good doing it im all for it hahaha.
My time frame for one plant to mature from seed to harvest is about 18 weeks. I am very willing to be patient.
The last question says "The last thing you should do when you have a few strains narrowed down is ask other growers. Find out what growers have experienced with it." that is why I asked you guys. thank you all for your help

Kali Mist.
Nirvana, Attitude, maijuana-seeds.nl and Herbies are all good. Many others too.

Hey bud, from what you wrote I'd check out Dynasty seeds (Professor P). He mainly sells on breedbay auction..but that is down right now and they are also available from sannie's shop. I bet the Drizella would be right up your alley!

I would personally go with ak-47, from serious seeds.

Nice option indeed. But being a first time grower, I'd recommend Nirvanna Ice and ak-48. Both backs cost about the same as one pack of SS AK-47.

I know, and didn't say other wise. I've grown all three strains. Being this guy is a first timer, he may want to save some cash while learning his trade.

Personally I love a challenge. I'm planning on growing hydroponically (I forgot to add that in the initial post). I am seriously looking at Hipsterdoofus' kali mist, and later on my 2nd harvest I plan to move to another strain such as ak 47.

I'm in love with my Grapegod, I picked up one feminized seed and it turned into a monster... Its a fast to mature plant, this one chopped down at day 51 for 6.6 ounces. The veg was 49 days (due to being planted right before a heat wave). Great flavor, quality, yield, vigor and a good plant bushiness--open to let light through, but not excessively stretched out.

For seeds you just need to order a few and put them in the ground and find what you like. Cycle some plants through and try not to keep any mothers at first, just keep trying new things. Many seed vendors offer some sort of free seeds with a minimum/tiered purchased. Those are excellent to play around with, see what you like then eventually settle on a mother. Try to not have any strain loyalty at first so that you can experience as many types as possible.

Wow. impressive yield. especially considering you grew with LED. I'm definitely going to try all the seeds I get my hands on. I'll add grapegod to the list. my friend said he has had it and it was great

http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/ has other plant suggestions listed by similar height/flower periods. to the right of the strain your looking at.
LED gets the job done, you just need to get the right one's.
(running only half the LED's while in veg, then bump it up to full power for flower; ~950w)

Single seed center is an awesome bank. They always give you 2 free female seeds with ever order over 30 dollars. Also they guarantee that you get you're beans and they haven't failed me yet.
Some easy strains to grow imo is AK-48, Blue Mystic, White Widow, and Northern lights.
This promotion they are giving away Tijuana and AK Automatic
Just ordered some Purple Widow and Hash Passion seeds myself.

I thought that Drizella fit the OPs description pretty well actually.
As to AK-47, my second grow, a small SOG of lollipopped AK-47s is looking pretty dang nice at 6.8 weeks.
From the front:
Across the tops:
AK-47 clones without fail and took right off, after only one week of Veg.
Good luck,
JD

OP, you might also enjoy doing a google search of the cannabis cup winners.
I did this when I started making my own list.
Coming up: =========================== Cannaventure Seeds Purple Berry BX II Cali Connection Deadhead OG Cali Connection Chem 40G TGA Subcool Seeds Qrazy Train Barney's Farm Blue Cheese ===========================
Then: =========================== Sensi Seeds Jack Herer Sensi Seeds Blueberry Sensi Seeds Hash Plant DNA LA Confidential Reserva Privada OG Kush ===========================
I used Attitude for all of my seeds, three shipments, zero problems.
Good luck,

Interesting, I was using attitude to research and could not find your original suggestion Drizella. I found it on other websites and it seems like a great strain, just not on attitude.

strange how that works sometimes, but it does. Best thing to do is find the breeder and then look up their stock on both sites. like when looking for grapegod you can't type in grape god or it won't come up. so go to their individual catalogs per distributor and see which each has stock of.

A lot of breeders avoid attitude for a moral or business reason. Many of my favorites don't vend there. There are plenty of smaller, legitimate seed shops..just spend a couple minutes reading reviews on the site before ordering and you should be fine! I was just taking into consideration what you had posted..prof p is a great guy/breeder and the strain sounded right up your alley!
I'll check out attitude later on and see who sells there and maybe give you a few more recommendations

That is a great point Angus. Attitude worked for me, but I have become aware of some great breeds that must be found elsewhere (i.e. BOG seeds).
I will check out Dynasty too.
Thanks,
JD

I checked out Attitude. Bodhi has some great stuff up..check out cheech wizard and goji. Cannabiogen always has some interesting offerings...sandstorm is an awesome plant with all the color of pck and more potency. Karma Genetics are sometimes a little high in price but always great quality and strains like Jack o Nesia would be right up your alley. Mosca has some nice strains up..but it seems like the prices are higher than what I remember.

noobie question. does every seed of the same strain of bud taste and have the same high from another seed of the same strain? I know clones will because they are an exact genetic replica.

Well that depends on how much work the breeder put into them. If stabilized they'll be close to the same, if not like human each maybe a little different.

You generally need to find the correct phenotype that has the growth/taste characteristics you like. there will generally be 1-3+ main styles of growth/characteristics. Sometimes they have height but not flavor, flavor but not yield, etc... If well bred it will have the number of those variations reduced and only the one's with the best characteristics will (likely) show up.
Some plants you can expect that they have known multiple pheno's and you can choose between say for example: the production pheno vs a smaller flavorful pheno. Once you find a strain you like then you should go through the process of seed-racing and selecting a good mother plant.
