avoid the feds question

So I'm a first time grower, and I go to college in a city. I have a good space picked out to grow my plants and have a good idea on how i will control the smell, power, vent, cool, humidify the room, and feed my plants. earlier, I was on the growery reading. These people kept talking about avoiding the IR and DEA with non inferred lights, and special paper. my question is: Would this all be necessary for me to look into if I'm only going to be growing 10 plants max (4 in vegetation, 1 or 2 in permanent vegetation to clone, and 4 in budding)? or is this only a precaution for growers of mass quantities?

I've been growing for years, I have never used any of that stuff. I wouldn't be concerned if I was you.

i think the special paper is mylar. and yes i recommend it but not for safety reasons. just for its reflective benefits.

Back the tape up. I need it again!
Let it roll! Just as high as the fucker can go!
And when it comes to that fantastic note
where the rabbit bites its own head off,
I want you to THROW THAT FUCKING
RADIO INTO THE TUB WITH ME!
Not me. It would blast you through
the wall stone dead in ten seconds and they'd make me explain.

Mylar does not block ir. Its too thin, its just a reflective coating on top of window tint. If you crinkle and fold it the mylar will come off over time.
The ir blockers are way more expensive and are like space blankets or the windshield covers for cars. I know a 25' roll of 1 mil mylar is less than $20 while the same size roll of "ir block" by C.A.P. is $80. The cap roll is almost 4x of a fatter roll because its so thick.
I would not spend money on ir blocks but thats just me...

They can see the heat register of the plants. But so few agencies use flir, and they have to get a warrant to use it anyways.

It's not the surveillance that gets you in trouble.
Trouble comes from telling people about your grow.
