Hey
Does anyone here use UV protection glasses when working around horticultural lights?
If so then which ones do you use, how much did they cost and where did you get them from?
I use a couple of fluorescent grow lights for cuttings and seedlings and I thought it might be a good idea to invest in some glasses to protect my eyes.

Thanks, man. I have sunglasses but I still want to be able to inspect the plant and see any signs of pests or disease etc and I think dark sunglasses would prevent my ability to see the finer details.

You don't need them for floros. Only HID lights.

Why not for fluoros?
I am using 130 watt fluoros (6400k). I also suffer from photosensitivity which is a million times worse when I have a migraine.

Hawk it is advised to use them even with floro's. Most florr's are suppose to be 20 feet above your head to avoid possible eye damage.

My understanding was floros don't put out the UV light that is damaging your eyes.
Edit: and that understanding was dead wrong.
Now with people who already have pre-existing eye issues it's a whole other story.

Unwisely I've been quite close to a few florescent and HPS without shades, because they decreased my visual acuity; I've become.... desensitized, it probably isn't a good thing. Get yourself some UV shades friend.
