45 days seems a bit early to me. Most plants take at least 56 days or more.

Should the hairs be orange completely? Until no white pistils are left?

You should be looking at the trichomes, not the hairs.

Would checking the trichomes on the leaves work as well? They are easier to see

They would be a decent indicator.

Short answer, no.
First the calyxes seem to have not swollen. The Majority or atleast half of hairs still look very young which mean the majority of those calyxes are too; although I have had white hairs during flower this is mostly on the newer calyxes. The trichomes should be the biggest thing to be used as the indicator.
Keep in mind the 50% amber trichomes with this chart.
They do a lot of swelling in the last few weeks, and that also seems to be when they really grow the trichomes too.

IMO just from the pic its not ready.
like mentioned above, scope the tricomes, they tell alot more then the hair color, and more then we could tell just by looking at it.

The hairs are quite simple.
If you look at the image you can judge pretty much what pistils the hairs are on.
The lighter ones on early or the top pistols while the colored/no pistols on the mature.
I've had white hairs still during a harvest, but that's because the plant still had some newer pistols that weren't fully there yet.

Yeah but do it with something not branded as a "420 Scope" That's about double the price you would pay for a jeweler's loupe of the same magnification.

i just hope the loupe i ordered is really a 40X loupe, and not just branded as one and is actually a 10X or something...shit....no wonder it was so cheap.

the cheap 30x one's from ebay are not as powerful as they claim. I have a 14x microscope that magnifies better. It seems more like a 10x.
I just ordered a 60-100x and when i turned it on the switch busted off. For $4.39 I wasn't expecting much. I can turn the switch on with a toothpick or something, and it does a pretty good job at manifying, but made very flimsy. I'm waiting to hear back from the guy in china.

ive grabbed a couple "jewelers loupes" and they were not all they were cracked up to be. im pretty happy with my 420 scope. ive had it for 2 years and its still rockin. leds still bright as day 1 as well. not trying to spam it up. was just pointing out this guys obvious need for simple gear.

any microscope thats more than $10 but less than $20 should do. The 420 scope for 17 doesnt look all that bad for a decent quality microscope--or any of that style. Like i said, the cheap one's on ebay are exactly that... cheap.
