Most of the time it's loose lips. A grower tells one person, someone they know well and trust. Once that's done, it's only a matter of time. That one person may tell someone else for a lot of reasons: they're worried about the grower, they have a fight with the grower, they tell somebody that they know and trust, etc. That's the chain that leads back to the grower. Outside of that, poor odor control, selling out of your house, and/or other indiscreet or non-security minded behavior are a distant second through fifth or so.
