Pesticide is the easiest way to get rid of your spider mites.

Neem oil mixed with a product called penetrator works friggin wonders. If your not into the pyrethrum pesticide route.

Pyrethrum worked magic for my guys. I did a lot of reading on it. It's pretty safe to use, even on flowering plants.

i prefer not to use it on flowering plants, but if it's necessary i only like to do it up to 2 weeks into flower and not after that.

I suppose that would be the best way to go about it.
However, I feel that that's a bit of a paranoid approach. It's unlike any other pesticide. I read a boat load about it because I was terrified of fucking up my plants (which at the time of my spider mite attack, were 6 weeks in.) From what I've read, I understand it's not at all harmful to plants or humans. On top of that, it breaks down super fast in light.
The guy at my hydro shop said the same thing as you, but there is a lot of evidence online to support the notion that pyrethrum is safe to spray on plants at any stage during the grow.
In my opinion, to ensure your personal safety and the quality of your product, I would stop a week before harvest and give the plants a good flush.

i don't think it's that paranoid. i'm not against using it in the slightest, if it's called for, but i do feel there are other steps that can be taken (neem oil) before moving up to pyrethrums; which, in my opinion is for complete infestations and the like. yes, it pretty much kills everything, which is great, i just prefer not to use it late into flower. it's personal preference i guess. it's definitely better than all of the harsher, chemical pesticides and if i had to pick between the two (chemical pesticides or organic pesticides) i would pick pytrethrum always.
if you've really got an insect problem, totally pyrethrum bomb that shit though. easy, sure-fire way to get rid of said problem.

Agreed, after 2 wees or so of flowering I like to use predator mites. But as long as you just keep on your game during veg it's not a problem.

After years of war against them I found the one thing that worked for me. A 1 quart sprayer. A 1/2 teaspoon Neem oil! A few drops of Palmolive dish deteregent. The one that cleans oil spill animals! Blue color I find best. Spray top and bottom of leaves every 3 days in Veg. By the time they are in flower there should be no worries. Also I spray the walls and floor and dirt and anything but the hood and bulb...lol

This.... Dish detergent also works well as a surfactant for keeping nutrients in contact with leaf surface while performing foliar feeds ;-)

Okay, this thread was 3 years old. It specifically asks you not to bump them when you go to reply. Please don't.
