I'm in South Korea right now, and what I see, is no. I just don't see a bland speech helping reunite the two countries. Female president, missile launch, communism, the fact that the Korean war isn't even over, it's in a standstill, etc.
Maybe in a while (like 25-30 years) they might inch towards it, but truthfully, I just don't see it happening.

So why are they fighting in the first place? What keeps the people from getting their shit together and learning to live ...being happy and in peace?
My guess is probably someone is profiting by pitting them against each other.
Shame that they just can't all learn to get along and enjoy life.

He doesn't sound much better. That's just the news. He's leading it the exact same as his father did. Disobeying boundaries, very limited freedom for his people, closed borders in and out, for trade and people. If you are looking at 2 average N and S korean 5 year olds, you can see how malnourished they really are.
It's very weird seeing how much the people in North Korea love the Kim J's. It's propaganda at it's finest. If someone is blind and they get cataract surgery, they thank KJ, not the surgeon.
Now I know that isn't directly related to the later KJ, but he does have a lot of pull into it still. He's still having his name carved into mountains, statues of him, put up everywhere. He's pretty much a spitting image of his father so far.

Just one of those typical communism (N Korea) vs "the free" (S Korea). Once they both started fighting in the soviet union backed up the N, and america backed up the S. They both used Korea to wage a fight so they wouldn't do it on their own soil pretty much. It was during the big Truman Communism scare.
They are still at war to this day for some pity reasons I guess. Both of them have big egos, they don't sign treatys, so they went to a standstill.

You might be right but the only way that will happin in our lifetime is if someone kills kim jung un (son) and before they have a chance to regroup the US and SK invade but to show they are there for peace and to bring food and supplies. There is NO WAY IN HELL that family is going to loosten there grip on power. They are gods to there people (disagree you get a bullet to the head). Look at how many "reeducation camps" there are there. They are brainwashed from birth to follow there "dear leader" and programed to die for him. You think these muslims that belive in jihad are bad??? The north koreans are worse. The only reason they dont blow up others is they cant leave NK no matter what and if you do get away and got family there they are dead!! NK is a place that needs to be destroyed and everyone there takin off the face of the earth in order for there to be a reunification.
