Bored and got nothing to do so just thought I'd write this up in case anyone was interested in it.

From Street Corner to Corporate Headquarters

"So you and your friends are hanging out and someone says "Let's smoke". You all scramble through your contacts list on your cell phones looking for your dealers number. While you are all doing that one of your friend whips out a business card that says "Mr. Greens Herbal Delivery". You all start laughing and wonder what dealer would be stupid enough to hand out business cards. Everyone thinks it's a joke but your friend is insistent that it's legit and good stuff. So out of curiosity you call up and get a answering machine. The recording plays some reggae music and asks you to leave a message. Your friend takes the phone and places a order for a Ounce of jack Herer. Two minutes later your cell phone gets a ring from a pay phone and they tell you where to meet and how much cash to bring. You meet with the guy and the transaction goes smoothly. No mean looks, No shady attitudes, No bull shit. You get back into the apartment and open it up and behold some of the dankest if not the dankest bud you have ever seen is there and it is exactly 28 grams, no skimping."

Sounds too good to be true right? Well if you live in NYC (Manhattan specifically) you probably have already heard about this if not experienced it. The marijuana dealers standing on NYC corners are soon going to be a thing of the past in New York City. You will no longer see street kids peddling dime sacks at St. Marks place nor will you see blacks from the Bronx slanging on canal street. The marijuana game in Manhattan is being transformed into Corporate type businesses. Many marijuana delivery services are springing up all over the city. It has taken the shadiness out of the transactions.

In my experiences most of the delivery services are run pretty much the same. You've got the big boss. This is the guy who started it all. He most likely has a house upstate New York which is completely devoted to production of high quality exotics or he may have a medical source from Cali. He has some of his underlings transport the stuff into the city where it is brought somewhere to be cut up (broken down into smaller amounts). They usually do this in apartments. The boss will usually not be involved in breaking it into smaller amounts. Anyways it is broken down into it's designated weights (most delivery services will not do that much weight in case of a set up, a O is usually the max). The person who is running the apartment where they break it up will also usually operate the phones. Once a order is placed the person who is in charge of the apartment will give the "Runner" (Usually kids who bring the stuff back and forth) the product and he will call you via a pay phone and give you instructions on where to meet him.

Delivery services always have some of the best stuff to be found in NYC. Manhattan is currently being flooded by rich kids (we call them "Yuppies"). Because of this the prices are skyrocketing. Some of these delivery services are selling O's at $500+....Despite this high price it has become the trend in Manhattan. Most delivery services are still moving over 20+ LBs a day (Keep in mind there breaking them up into anything from eights - Ounces).

Although a lot of competition is out there within the delivery service circles there has not been any real noticeable blood shed yet. Some of the delivery services have hired "helpers" from some of the Dominican gangs to "fix" problem where the customer thought he was smart and ripped off the runner.
