Cleaning Deer Antler?

Was passed along a deer antler pipe from my father a few years back. The many years it has been around have resulted in it being thoroughly plugged up with resin. The bowl seems to be made out of wood and attached to the deer antler.
What on earth is the best way to clean this thing?
Was previously heating up a paper clip and stabbing it down inside; now, the bottom seems to be so plugged that is no longer a viable option.
Am hesitant to soak it in anything.

Do NOT soak that in anything. Your best bet is to find some nice strong, but thin pieces of metal to scrape it out, and attack from both sides. It'll take time, but that's the way she goes.

Sounds good and thank you for the input.
