You can get huge tanks of butane for warmers and camping equipment and a large enough copper pipe to do a LB at a time. Not to mention that Butane is not the only solvent that can be used to create true Honey Oil. Hexane for example is another option and can be recollected and used over and over. http://www.gardenscure.com/420/recycling/69422-honey-oil-101-honey-oil-under.html

There are many other nonpolar solvents that could be used to make honey oil with the same purity, but hexane is the solvent of choice because it is the cheapest and safest to use.

Two or three cans of butane might strip a pound(s) depending on saturation levels of thc in butane.

Where do you get this info about copper? I thought it was used in plumbing because it doesn't affect the taste of water and is resistant to corrosion.

I would also like to know where you got that info.
But I trust copper... If it's the best thing to use in an alcohol still then I'll trust it with these non-polar solvents

IDK...I've had copper pipes leak from the hard water I used to have up in the foothills before I moved up the mountain. Landlord had to redo the pipes in the ceiling( What a mess that was when it started leaking), and install a water-soffener.. Peeps here use sections of 2"-3" black ABS pipe...samll hole in top screw-on cap to put butane thru, screen inside bottom cap that has larger hole in it...stuff in the middle... Incidently, places in our area sell Triple-Filtered cans of butane..LOL...like my lighter can tell:D Takes awhile for the oil to drip into drian pan...then you have to evap. tTo many people use heat to evap, and blow the livin' shit outta the garage. Hear about the busts all the time, as the fire engines show up!!
Anyoo, that's what i've heard from AFOAF.... Peace

chemical based hashes are just most unfavorable, hand rubbed for the win! but bubblehash, is just as good. Yech to iso/butane/hexane hashes, bad for the environment when you release those cans/pumps/etc. Bad for your body too, those spirits leave residue behind.

uh, no they don't. Hexane as a solvent is marketed as a contact cleaner that leaves no residue. As long as you leave the hash to sit for a while (as in an hr or so), there won't be anything left behind. Hexane can also be recollected, so your argument against environmental harm holds no water either.
Solvent hashes are just as good, and stronger, then hand rubbed or water extracted hash.
Quote:
ol @ using heat to evap Butane
why are you laughing, placing a dish of heated water underneath your extraction dish is a perfectly acceptable method of speeding up evaporation.
Quote:

He's wrong, copper is fine, the reason it's used in hexane reactions is to collect the hexane from your extraction dish to be used again. You can't bend stainless steel, you can bend certain types of copper. It won't affect the taste of the hash at all.

i would never ever smoke your chemical hash no matter what you say, i would like to see hard data that nothing would be left behind. I just don't buy it. The propellents are also not good for the air.

Hexane has a high evaporation rate (at 9 which is 6 higher then what is considered at minimum to be fast). For the practical use of it, it has to leave no residue. Anyone who's worked with any type of electrical repair knows that leaving gunk on your contacts is a quick way to fuck shit up. If you're still super paranoid that some hexane, or butane, got left behind, a min or two on top of your stove burner will get rid of anything that may have been left behind. Also, hexane is used to separate essential oils to be used in food products. So, in short, it can be considered a food safe product in a way (even though you never actually eat any of the hexane, it's just used in the process). I'd also like to point out this little tibit:
Quote:
Environmental Fate: When released into the soil, this material may biodegrade to a moderate extent. When released into the soil, this material is not expected to leach into groundwater. When released into the soil, this material is expected to quickly evaporate. When released into water, this material may biodegrade to a moderate extent. When released to water, this material is expected to quickly evaporate. When released into the water, this material is expected to have a half-life between 1 and 10 days. This material has an estimated bioconcentration factor (BCF) of less than 100. This material has a log octanol-water partition coefficient of greater than 3.0. This material is not expected to significantly bioaccumulate. When released into the air, this material is expected to be readily degraded by reaction with photochemically produced hydroxyl radicals. When released into the air, this material is expected to have a half-life between 1 and 10 days.
(taken from: http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/h2379.htm )
Also, to further debunk your irrelevant environmental harm claim, hexane can be bought legally with no propellants from any chemical supply store. It requires no permits, it is not a watched chemical, and is sold to anyone who has the cash to buy it. You can buy it by the liter, gallon, or drum if you so choose in it's raw form.
I also find it silly that you refuse to smoke "chemically separated hash" when the weed it was separated from was most likely grown using chelated nutrients.
In short, besides personal opinion, you have no argument against solvent hash except that you don't prefer it.
