May I suggest you guys setting up an irc server, I see that there is a chat thing, for the shroomery you have here...
Just saying if you guys had your own irc server i would totally join

I would definitely stay logged in. The problem would be getting people to use it.

Nope, sorry. We actually ran our own IRC network (irc.shroomery.org) for many years until very recently. Unfortunately, IRC tends to allow for a lot of shit talking that proved impossible to effectively moderate. As a result, IRC drama has spilled over to affect our main web site on more than one occasion via DDOS attacks, the most recent of which landed us a $25K hosting bill and thousands of dollars in additional expense to resolve the matter. If something like that had happened before we started saving some scratch for unknown situations like this... frankly, we probably would not be online right now. Therefore, IRC is simply a liability we do not want to entertain any longer, but of course you guys can setup your own network off-site, which from what I've been told, can easily be done for less than $50/month.

Damn, I didn't realize they did that. Ridiculous, ddos attacks are lame.
Hybrid, we'll have to talk about running one. I don't have PM's anymore so maybe by email or something. I have an old Linux box that would probably suffice to host it. We'll have to see.
