 Ready for war against Iran?

Was just briefed today about 2 Iranian fighter jets trying to shoot down a Predator drone that was flying in international airspace
This is a clear act of war and aggression by the Iranians who are already on thin ice and risking air strikes from Israel that could come any day now.
It will be interesting to see how the US reacts to their drone being fired upon by Iran. This was most certainly an act of war and a test as it came immediately following the election.
I actually support a war with Iran. They have been kicking sand in the face of everyone for the past decade now and nobody has done shit about it. Israel will certainly not let them get a nuke and Iran is getting close to that point.
What do you guys think about the whole Iran situation and their ambitions for a nuclear weapon?

No I don't support a war on Iran at the moment, or ever depending on how things unfold in the future. My cousin, whom I'm very close to, and have heard more than I would ever want to know about war. I don't want more of our citizens to die over bull shit in the middle east.

I dont think it's acceptable to allow Iran to become a nuclear power though. And I support whatever action is required to stop that from happening
The international community has tried using sanctions over the past 7-8 years but they have been pretty much worthless at stopping Iran's advancements

Similar things have happened in the past. It is not likely to start a war, unless you mean a war for advertising on news networks. The US will likely press for additional sanctions on Iranian oil, which would further cripple their economy. Oil sanctions alone have already reduced the value of their currency by about 40%.
Sanctions haven't stopped uranium enrichment, but they have reduced internal support for the regime. Lack of internal support creates weakness if military action is eventually taken.

Yeah, I saw that it actually happened on the 1st, but they didnt come out and brief the public about it until after the election.
Sanctions just arent working. Iran hasnt been deterred at all. Israel simply will not let them get a nuke. It's a matter of time before there are attacks aimed at strategic ground targets including enrichment facilities and other military installations.

Dont really want a war with Iran, but they are not leaving many other options on the table. They have already said they will not step down there progress towards uranium enrichment and there is no way the international community can allow Iran to become a nuclear power.

Iran is a completely different country than we are.
Their instability and their open desire to declare war on Israel is what makes the prospect of them having a nuclear weapon to be a problem.
PositiveOutlook- While Russia and China have both been hesitant to apply too much pressure to Iran, there is very very little chance they would ever get into a blood battle with us. China relies on the US consumers farrr too much to risk that relationship by getting involved with Iran. Russia, on the other hand, yes that is a little scary to think about but we have allies as well. We are still the most advanced and capable military power in the world.

Why not let the rest of the world take care of em? Even if they end up with nuclear they wont be able to get one onto U.S. soil, by way of ICBM etc. They will only be a direct threat to the countries around them. Let those countries deal with it. We should not be the police of the world, it is not our responsibility.
It would also not be very fiscally responsible for us to do so at the moment. Were only just now starting to recover from the collapse, getting into another 10 year war is not the best idea.

I agree with you there. As long as the other countries step up and exercise the capabilities to shut down Iran while minimizing alliance loses.
I dont support American boots on the ground. But think we could be an effective partner through naval and air control
