These fucktards here missed the main election of 2012, when more people went to the polls. Now they get a shitty mid-term election to try again in 2014.

Depends on where your at, and how much you have on you. Each state has its own laws on it. Crater Lake in Oregon should be checked out.

Man, I'm not looking forward to what the federal response to this is going to be. Unless the result of the ADA vs. DEA lawsuit happens in our favor and SOON, I can see the feds pulling some very nasty moves in the next couple of months... As for the actual bill itself, I was quite disgusted with it. It isn't really a legalization bill. You can't grow your own, the taxes imposed are ASTRONOMICAL (3-4 times the taxation rate of ANY substance), and the DUI provision has no real science behind it (making it dangerous for any heavy user or medical patient to legally drive a car).

Yea, but a law that unfairly prosecutes people who simply smoke more than the average person isn't a good place to start at... Nor is taxation at this rate. It will make an ounce of high grade cost $600-700 to the consumer, and that's ONLY if the growers still get a marginally fair price of $2400 a pound for it...

The measure in Washington State, Initiative 502, will legalize and regulate the production, possession and distribution of marijuana for residents age 21 and older. The new law will impose a 25 percent tax rate on marijuana when the grower sells it to the processor, when the processor sells it to the retailer and when the retailer sells it to the customer. The measure could bring in $500 million, a figure analysts dispute.
so it will be taxed 25%, three times?

Believe me I agree. But I think these laws are pointed in the direction of industrialization of marijuana so they had to address some of those things.
And to have those people on the border of okaying its use or not they had to address some of those safety issues(or what they consider to be safety concerns)
Those details will be sorted out in the coming months as more states enact laws for the other states to use as a template.

It's OK to allow minors access to tomatoes. It is not OK for minors to have access to weed.

Wow! Washington really got screwed! The DUI thing has gotten shot down here a few times, thankfully. I feel safe because we can grow. I think the entire industry is gonna take some major heat from the Feds so caregivers will be back in business. Just this year they were implementing new regulations aimed at closing down dispensaries and took the banks away from the MMC's.

Very very true.

Really? Something gets legalized, but in doing so makes it so many, many people are going to be persecuted on different charges, isn't too much of a win.
To me a step in the right direction is wording the propositions appropriately, and not just voting for it because it says it's decriminalizing or legalizing it.

Goddamnit, people wanted to be able to go to the store for weed or to simply not be locked up for simple possession and now people are bitching because they can't grow or can't do this or that. I understand where you are coming from but you know the saying give a jackass an inch and he'll take a mile? You sonsabitches are redefining the term.
