Advice on how to get the most out of my cabinet?

Closet is 30 inches wide, 73 inches tall and 22,44 inches deep. It's already painted flat white. I have 2 boards I can put inside at pretty much any height because it has holes all along the sides from top to bottom you can insert them in.
My biggest concern is the cabinet door. It doesn't seal itself shut airtight. Air will get through the "creaks". Which means odor will get out.
This is probably the biggest problem for me about starting to grow weed so I really need good advice on that.
Also noise is a problem too. I can't have any machines running that cause noise all night disturbing my neighbors.. Walls are extremely thin and I can almost hear them whisper at the nights hehe.
Soo yeah, Just some questions and thoughts out of the top of my head..
Should I insert one of the boards into the closet and grow it on 2 levels to get twice as much? There can't be allowed to get any light past the board then and need 2 lights (one for each level).. And I'm not sure if the cabinet is tall enough to fit 2 levels of both lights and plants.
What height and width should I aim for the plants to become? I've read they can reach sooo different heights all the way from 15 inches or less up to 30 inches and taller.
Should the plants be different sizes on the two different levels?
What size should the pots be?
I'll need to drill a hole to get a cable in for fans? How to stop airflow through that hole so only the cables get through?
How do I implement ventilation? Doesn't ventilation vent out all the odor? What do I do about that? carbonfilter attached to the ventilation? The ventilation is a basically a fan that sucks air into it and out the other side? I would have to make a pretty damn big hole to attach a fan on the door? Isn't just opening the door to the closet enough to ventilate a few times per day? You have to open it anyway to water the plants and take care of them? What do I do about the odor every time I do that? Maybe it's not enough odor to worry about if I just open and close it a few times per day?
Do I need a humidifier inside? On both levels? (If it's best to go with 2 levels)

There's a lot of questions in here that I don't have time to answer at the moment.
But I'll Answer this one for you at the moment. No, just opening up the cabinet a couple of times a day, wont get enough fresh air for your plants. You need to replace the air inside the cabinet at least a 3-4 times a minute.
I'll get to the rest later. Right now I have booze calling my name, and a pool table as well.

I guess it might be a lot of questions to answer all at once.. Maybe start of with just one question that I would like to know before the others..
For the small space I will grow in (30 inches wide, 73 inches tall and 22,44 inches deep).. Do you think a 90w LED light is better than a 400w HID?

sorry I forgot about this. So it really depends on how you want your setup.
I personally would go for the HID. You will get MUCH better canopy penetration.

Alright, will do.
I also think I'll go with just 1 level of plants.. I can make the plants taller that way and I'm not even sure I could fit 2 levels.. it would be extremely tight. Also it's just simpler with 1 level. I mean it's a lot I would have to squeeze in each level.. light, plants, humidifier, and ventilation. So yep, just one level.
So here's the next 2 questions:
What size should the jars be that I grow out of?
Since the cabinet is pretty tall I could easily make the plants over 40 inches tall. Don't think I can make them too wide though depending on how many I place in there.
Do you think 4 plants sounds the best?

4 plants sounds just fine, 3 gallons of soil each, no need for a humidifier dude.

Thanks
For the duct fan that's used as ventilation.. Just use a holesaw to make a hole in the cabinet door?
I hate having to make that hole though because the cabinet is part of the apartment so I will probably get in trouble for that when I move out.
Any idea of an easy way to make your own door if I unhinch the current one? And I really mean easy because I'm not very much a handyman at all.
The current door is very "loose" too.. it doesn't make a very good airtight seal when it's closed.. probably half a cm gap between door and cabinet that air passes through. I guess I could just tape that up though but then I can't open the cabinet anymore. Any idea about that issue?
Because I'm assuming that gap is going to let a looot of odor out? Is the odor really that bad anyway? Can it actually go through the walls and roof into neighbors apartments? Maybe through the vents? Or is the odor controlling everyone does to prevent house guests from smelling it and finding your stealth grow?

Well you're going to need an intake hole and an exhaust hole, so it doesn't matter if the door is loose.
And yeah, just take a skill saw and cut the appropriate size holes. But you do also need to make it sure that it's light proof.

Great
Also, Just to be clear.. I need a duct fan as ventilation attached to a hole on the door AND a normal fan inside the cabinet? Or does the duct fan ventilation serve as a fan as well?
If I need a fan as well, Does it matter what kind of fan it is? Like does it do harm if it has too much power blowing too much/hard air?
Think I know everything I need to know for the grow room design after those questions.
Thanks a lot man, Helped me out heaps!

I found out the info I needed
Fans only need 12w or 230w computer fans for such a small cabinet.
And the ventilation is same thing as fans. So if I have the intake fan at bottom and and out fan at top then I don't need any more fans inside cabinet.
Just in case someone else reads this and needed to know
I have a new question though.. I've been reading that HPS lamps are the best and it's what the pros use. They are expensive though but gives more buds so it really pays off.
I'm just wondering if it could harm the plant if I have the lamp too close to the plant? I think I read somewhere that the plant can get burned from light? How far away does the light need to be?
Also is it enough with a HPS lamp sitting above the 4 plants? Even though I have flat white painted walls I have hard imagining that the lamp will give enough light through all the leaves to the bottom later during flowering. This is why I'm asking about if it harms the plants if I have lamp too close to the plant.. Because I could place a few 20w LEDs on the corners of the cabinets at bottom of plants and maybe one at bottom center so I don't only have a HPS from the top.
But the LEDs would be sooo close to the leafs then.
What do you think about that? Could the light burn the plants?

Yes lights can burn plants. HPS and MH have the most penetration out of any artificial light source. Of course it's not going to reach the bottom of the plant or anything like that. But that doesn't really matter. I wouldn't waste the money on extra LED's if your going to use and HPS. Put that into a better reflector that's air cooled.

okay cool, thanks.
As I understand now HID = HPS.. it's same thing.. HID = HPS and metal halide. Sortof like HID = fruit and HPS = orange and metal halide = apple.
I've decided it's a good idea to have 2 level in the cabinet after all since it's a pretty tall.
the top level I'll do veg and bottom level which will take most space of the cabinet I'll do fruiting.
I won't let any light through the level.
I'll use metal halide lamp for the veg and HPS for fruiting level.
Sounds good?

1 level if your doing HID man. Then you only have to do one light and can have better equipment.

But how would I fit both veg and flowering plants on same level?
Or are you suggesting to just have 1 level where you start the plants from veg and then change timer on lights when starting flowering and then when harvested you start over from veg again by adjusting light timer again?
Don't you think it would be more efficient to have 2 level so you can have second level veg so that you can have one level in constant flowering because when harvested you don't have to start over from veg because you just move the ones that are ready to begin flowering from second level to the first?

With the space your using.
"Or are you suggesting to just have 1 level where you start the plants from veg and then change timer on lights when starting flowering and then when harvested you start over from veg again by adjusting light timer again?"
This is the better choice

Yeah you are probably right. I think I read somewhere that even plants that are in veg can get pretty big. Because the size they become when flowering is usually about double size they were in veg.
If this project goes well I will probably empty my other cabinet that's next to it and find somewhere else to put my clothes and double my weed production
edit: Come to think about it.. Maybe I could have my veg plants under one of my tables? It's 27 inches height space.. not sure if that's too short.

Ok, I've done a lot of study and having veg under table is too short.
This is my new plan:
use both closets.
1st closet is for veg and 2nd closet is for flowering.
In the veg closet I'll make sure to always have 4 mother plants that are ready to move into 2nd closet (flowering closet) when the flowering plants have been harvested.
And about a week before I anticipate that it's harvest time I'll cut off 4 branches from the veg motherplants so they have a week time to regrow that branch and then use those branches or I think they are called sticklings to make clones that can grow into new motherplants meanwhile the old ones are brought into the flowering closet.
edit: Should I use HPS for both closets or should I use metal halide for the veg closet and HPS for flowering closet?

HPS for the flowering. And you dont need anything more than floros for the veg.

How many kelvin power should the fluo tubes have? And how many LM? I'm not sure the difference between kelvin and lm but the shop I'm browsing has floro tubes ranging between 950 lm to 5200 lm.
Also, The most optimal is placing 1 cool white and one warm daylight tube in the armature?
Cheers!
