I don't think it has anything to do with variants in bags, but more strain dependent. Meaning some strains are more sensitive than others and that's why you are seeing the difference.

Yeah I've noticed the same thing. I just let em grow through it and don't worry. But I rarely pop seeds. I'm usually obtaining clones.
And I feel that most seeds will burn just a little bit if germinated in the soil, but some strains are way more sensitive than others.

Personally, I like to put them in a nutrient free environment UNTIL they show deficiency, and then put them in a nutrient rich soil and adding nutrients n what have you.
It's a personal preference I believe. They all work out in the end.

Clones take to it not problem. Still a little strain dependent though. Some are just super sensitive.
I think it doesn't show up right off the bat, because the plant hasn't really put out a decent root system, and isn't really sucking up that much yet. This is just a guess though.

CoCo is my primary ingredient but I like to add some perlite/vermiculite to help break it up. I find it gets a little too compact with nothing else.
