How the internet affected music, news, and media has been pretty similar: while it has allowed you more choice, but that open market means you have tons more shit to wade through. Not a big deal if you have a group of intelligent consumers, but...

You guys are pretty sick, also I don't think the guy was crazy. He was very much aware of what he was doing, and he planned for the event and the aftermath. He accomplished more than I did up to this point and he is regarded as a hero or the opposite. Doesn't matter really, he's regarded in this world full of nobodies

I don't agree with this, think about Columbine, Dawson (in Montréal), or any tragedies of this kind, they are still being talked about, I don't think this story will fall into the abyss, just because of what the guy did in his appartment, it is quite an unique story.

That was so fucked up to happen.
I cant believe he was planning this for 4 months.
My theory of why he planned this massive shooting at the new Batman Movie premier is two reasons. First, he was somehow "inspired" by the Joker in The Dark Night. The Joker was a horrible guy in that movie. Just sick, twisted and evil. Do you guys remember the old villans in the 1990's Batman. Villains like the Riddler, Mr. Freeze and The Penguin looked like childern compared to the ruthlessness of Joker. I think the guy was inspired by the Jokers pure evilness. The new Batman's are very dark compared to the older ones, which seemed more for childern away. The newer prequels are for adults.
Well, I just read in the thread that he was dressed up as The Joker. I did not hear that in the news story I read in a magazine. Is that true? Well then, he was definitely "inspired" (if thats what it should be called) by the Villain Joker. The movie gloried being an evil murder. Thats pretty messed up entertainment.
The second reason is that the first movie was said to be "cursed". A bunch of people who acted in The Dark Night died after that movie was made, including the Joker. I believe he also wanted to keep with the curse for the next movie. Maybe he was a little schizophrenic with delusions of cursed movies and being the resurrection of a fictitiousness villain. Who knows.....I read he wont tell the police why he did it. I can only imagine what was going thru his head months before the incident.
I think it also had to do with him being in graduate school for neuroscience. Neuroscience is a ridiculously complicated field, which means he likely borderlined on genius. And it is said that "Theres a fine line between being a Genius and being Insane. A gifted mind can be mixed blessing for those who cannot control its power.
As for the movie, I will wait till it comes out on Red Box. I dont wanna risk having a copy-cat killer repeat the incidient in my town. You never know, too paranoid to risk it....
I would hate to be trapped in the theater like a chickens in a cage, ready to be blasted away. No way.

This is a fact, the world is the same or more peaceful than it ever has been. Just the globalization of media has made it much easier to find out about this stuff.
