Three Seed (FEM) - Indoor Grow - Because the first times are always special
    #629880 - 06/29/12 07:06 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Indoors.

Room Specs:
- Humidity 50-55% (this is w/ a humidifier)
- Temperature 93-95 (daytime), 90-85* (night)
- Mylar coats over a 1/3 to 1/2 of the room.
- Two fans, one high, one low, and leaving the door open for ventilation (it is not possible to do any home/suite construction to hook up any ventilation)

Primary Light Source:
For seedlings/clones : 2x 32W CFL Daylight (? The blue spectrum)
For vegetative : 400W MH on a 400W HPS Ballast (minimal loss of bulb life, but I've noticed some extra heat also leaks. blue bulbs shouldn't run this hot)
For flowering : 400W HPS

Grow Medium:
I think soil? Or soil-less?
30*% Perlite
30*% Peat moss
40*% Composted Cow Turds

*Rough percentages

Strain(s):

Current Harvest: (planted june 22-23rd)
Pineapple Express (Sat/Ind)
Afghan Kush (Ind) - Root shock.
Critical + (Ind)

Second Harvest:
Sweet Deep Grapefruit
Super Lemon Haze
Liberty Haze

Pics:

(Day 7 since germ.)

An allied hero has fallen in battle (Afghan Kush).

(Day 15)

I shocked it by disturbing the root system with a metal spoon lol. I thought it would help drainage if I could break apart this big hunk of manure from the bottom. The shock + the heat wasn't good to it. Leaves all sagging and browning inwards. Hoping for the best with the other two. (ultimate sad face)

Here's the Critical Plus (left) and Pineapple Express (right) at day 15:

I heard that Pineapple Express takes nutes, overwatering and overfertilization better than most strains so I went ahead and fed it nutes a bit earlier and a bit more than I did the Critical. As shown in the pictures the PE grows like a beast (good ol' sativa), and what isn't obvious is that it STILL SHOWS SLIGHT NUTE DEFICIENCIES! Good stuff. Unfortunately, since I'm growing multiple strains I'm trying to keep the canopies even but would that really matter with only 2 plants?

Nutrients:
-Plant Prod Drop N Gro' All Purpose 20-20-20
(1/4 to 1/3 for starters, then gradually increasing to 1/2 for initial vegging and full strength for mid-late vegging, increasing as needed)

-Plant Prod Flowering Plants 15-30-15

I peek at the bottom of the jiffy cups I use every now and then to see how the roots are growing. I saw a nice long white root coming out of the bottom of the Pineapple Express this morning and I'll be transplanting it out tomorrow night just before lights out.

I love the Jiffy brand. With the cups you can just take a pair of scissors and cut along the side of the cup. With some proper handling and gloves = minimal shock.

Anyways here's the pics. PE on the right, C+ on left.

(Day 17)

Oh and I found a small patch of brown discoloring appearing on the inner-leaves on new leaf growth for both of the plants. Is that heat/light stress? Nute intake changing because of HID -> CFL?

Fingers crossed.
