red stems?

why would you get red stems on seedlings?

stems can turn purple from lower temps aswell as could be a phosphorous deficiency, im sure hawk meant to mention that. likely because there seedlings u dont have to worry, some just do that because of genes/ type of lighting

the reason i asked was because they were growing in temp. like 65-68 till i closed the grow room in now its 70- 78 better huh

^^^ best advice but Hawk is right, genetics play a major role,
stems and buds turn purple in lower temperatures

The stems probably haven't yet developed chlorophyll. Most of mine come out some sort of red to purple color, most probably due to anthocyanins, and then turn green later on as they get older.
