Moving in from the Shroomery

I've been on the Shroomery for a while, and I finally decided to put in some time for a mini grow. What better place to learn the optimum methods than here?
So, if anyone can point me in the right direction, that'd be great. I'm planing on a small scale personal grow; 4-6 plants max. Need them to be short, and the only concern I have is the smell with my neighbors.
Suggestions? Recommendations? Seeds, soils, lights, others? I'm a newb with pot, so any and all info is good. The goal; to make the most crystally bud possible. I demand quality ;-)

my only suggestion is to get good clones, or seeds. Dont use "bag seed" ... sucks to put all the effort in and end up with a hermie (bad genetics)
im sure hawks can help u with all the details u need ....
good luck dude

Thanks :-)
Yeah, I'm gonna keep it under wraps. Not something people need to know.
Genetics are by far the most important thing for sure, this I know. Like any plant, optimum conditions only help so much. So I will for sure not skimp when it comes to seed.
Using a filter is certainly a good idea for smell. I intend to vent it out a window using a dryer vent, but I didn't want to call in any unwanted attention. Are they just carbon filters?

BTW, finding out teks is quite overwhelming and complex. I was not expecting growing of a weed to be so difficult. Filtering out the necessary from the unnecessary will prove difficult... and optimizing maybe even more so.

Welcome!
If you have specific questions feel free to ask. But please do so in the cultivation forums. Yes the filter is a charcoal filter.
I recommend you go with Fox Farms Ocean Forest for your soil. We can talk about all the other stuff as it comes up man.

Small plants are easy. Many different methods. Mid size plants are cool.
Then there are SOG plants in one gallon bags
Then if you really want a mini grow (did this cause I was told it couldn't be done)
See ya in the cult forums

Yeah it was a fun test till the plants were getting close to harvest. Fun to look at but got real tired of those 3 times a day waterings.
These pics are from way back in the day when I first did dixie cups with lava rock in flood and drain trays. With this grow I was out to prove people could make good grow systems from easy to find parts and around the house things.
Wood, plastic liner, lava rock, dixie cups, and nutrients and wa-la...

Simple and cost effective is good. It's really what I'm after too (who wouldn't, right? )
