So, I never go to the town my high school was in. I haven't been there in like 3 years. My ex used to live there and I wanted to avoid her, and even now that shes gone I hate going because I just hate the people who live there.
I was finally convinced to go see a movie there. Within 10 seconds of stepping out of the car, I was already getting hassled by some dude who "yo my car is out of gas so I'm standing here asking everyone for money man can I get a few bucks for gas this is so embarrassing"...literally, 10 seconds and I was already getting conned. I told him I don't carry any cash. We hung out for a bit, and as soon as it started raining he DROVE AWAY. He told us his brother was coming to get him  I wonder how much he really makes doing that.
Then, I saw the fattest man I've ever seen in my life. I'm fat - I don't make fun of fat people. But this guy was completely unreasonably fat. Like, he didn't have a neck, and it looked sorta like his body was trying to swallow his head. I tried to look away from that dude, and to the other side of me was a crazy mangled crippled dude.
Then I start walking into dollar tree for some movie snacks, and some woman has me hold her baby while she lights a cigarette.
All of this happened in like a 10 minute time span.
And now I remember why I don't go there.

This seems like the city i am from. I love everyone of my friends there. But to much bullshit and drama. Its good to visit family there. but thats about it

i cant wait to move. i stopped hanging out with everybody i know. its amazing how many people are either narcissists or sociopaths.
everybody in my age range thinks theyre dubstep DJs and they all get shitfaced drunk every night. im closer to 30 than 20. i've grown up and they havent. no one can shut the fuck up, everyone knows everything, and they all LIVE on drama and stupid rumors. its fuckin amazing how so many people can eat so much LSD and not get ANYTHING from it.
i stopped hanging out with a lot of people and just started doin my own thing. i'll be moving back to the west coast in the next year or so hopefully.

I was never very good friends with most people from my high school. There was a huge divide because I live pretty far from it (20 minute+ drive) so my crew was always the kids I grew up with around my home town. And still is.

OP I'm sorry for you man. Right today I was back in my old village and visited the youth center. There I met some friends who often hang out there (because there is NOTHING else in that village) and smoked a doobie there.
Shortly after, everything got on my nerves. The Girls talkling childish stuff (awfully annoying...) One of them such a substance whore that she flirted with me inspite of her boyfriend just because I had some weed. I know this guy a long time now...
I have never had this before and I often went there stoned. Maybe I'm just really growing up or I have a medical condition called being a cynical asshole (aka ass burgers syndrome).

same here man. i have that thought of "shit i'm getting old" more and more often. especially after going to shows and seeing a bunch of young ass kids high on bath salts and/or too drunk to stand up, while i'm either sober (high on weed) and OK with it, or tripping balls and super OK with everything.
i took some acid last weekend, and had a weird thought "fuck! how old am i again?"
i feel like my days of being stupid and irresponsible are over, and personally, I'M GLAD!!! i just wish i could meet some like minds in my area. especially some females. but, they all seem to be crazy and immature, and have a horrible taste in guys. so, fuck it!
right now the only girls that get my attention are these 2
