yeah my veg room is five by ten by eight(wxlxh). i actually have two 400 watt bulbs burning and a 250 cfl. the trick is not to put the plant too close to the light. she is about 3 feet away.

thats extreme over kill at this stage. is this your first grow?
the 250 CFL is PERFECT by itself for a seedling. there absolutely is NO need for 1 let alone 2 400w MH lamps unless you were vegging 10-15 plants... seriously!!! thats a huge waste of electricity. your plant is probably absorbing .000000001% (<-Estimate) of the light that youre giving it.

When i am running at my plant limit there will be 13 (11 clones & 2 mothers). For the first 2 or 3 weeks of veg i can fit the 11 clones under one of the 400 and leave the second one off. The mothers stay under the CFL. Plus i have 8 strawberry plants. They will have strawberry's in a few days.
Its definitely not a waste of electricity for me i enjoy it to much.

Yeah i just got my strawberry's this year. Put some outside but i plan on leaving these ones inside. Just alittle experiment. I am leaving them in my veg room until they fruit for a while, Then i think if i put them on a 12/12 light cycle they will produce runners. Not 100% on that though.

well i have terminated this grow due to powdery mildew. the only plant in my rooms that aren't showing sings of infection are the strawberries. i will be moving them outside, but they are doing very well growing strawberry's and producing runners. kinda sad but i have to clean everything and improve ventilation in my veg room.
