Could be due to overwatering and over ferting.

Fill this out for me
Soil Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones? 2. How old are your plants? 3. How tall are your plants? 4. What size containers are they planted in? 5. What is your soil mix? 6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? 7. What is the pH of your water? 8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? 9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? 10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 11. How close are your lights to the plants? 12. What size is your grow space in square feet? 13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 14. What is the pH of the soil? 15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? 16. How much experience do you have growing?

These are all issues. Back off on the watering. Get a pH tester, make sure you're in the 6.5 range. Try to transplant to real soil

too much fertilizer...
but if he flushes... can't that be considered over watering?
you can flush to get rid of that can't you?
Mod: Get verification from someone more experienced before you do anything

I already told him to flush and transplant.
And no, flushing is not over watering. It's flushing. And it's not over watering because you only do it once and then let it get nice and dry.

Is 1-3 bladed leaves a trait of some sativas? I had a strain for a while that looked a lot like that, it was one of my favorites. As it gets bigger it will likely form some smaller leaves with 5-7 blades.
I think it looks alright for growing in coffee grounds and tree bark, but yeah, get something better.
I pulled this list from mandalaseeds.com soil guide, it is for good brands of soil for Europeans, if that's where you are? I'm taking a guess.
Quote:
Compo Sana Universal/Flower/Bio/Plantacion/Seedling Mix
Klassman KT2 Potting Soil
CANNA Professional
FloraGard Vital Blumenerde & FloraGard general product range for potted/garden plants
(Compo Sana & FloraGard is widely available in many garden centers, shopping malls, hardware stores across Europe. Visit their website for more info on a dealer in your area)
The rest of the soil guide there has very useful info, you might want to check that out.

And if you wanna water right, (I know it sounds stupid, but some people have a talent for drowning the plant) look how light the pot is when it's quite dry and water it JUST until droplets come out into the saucer. After that you can basicly let it stand like two-three days until it gets light again. The plants suck the water out of soil that would seem dry to us, but just because it doesn't drip, doesn't mean it is dry.

I disagree with this. It's not bad advice, but not the only way to water properly. I usually have quite a lot of water coming out the bottom of my containers when I water, I just make sure they dry out enough in between waterings.
