w00t, applied for food stamps and got my EBT card today
Will have 245.00 on my card tomorrow at 5am and get 200.00 a month after that
Will help out a shit ton not having to pay much for groceries
How is everyone this afternoon?

i used to have them but they dicked me over. total BS. ive been through too much with the state i dont wanna try to get them back. they were fuckin awesome to have. i was able to eat HEALTHY food and a lot of it when i had food stamps. it was great.

Here you can get them if you make under like 800 a month or if you have children or disabled people you take care of
In my case I am poor and just got out of jail within the past 3 months so I got "emergency funds," go into my account within 24 hours

I had a bridge card (EBT) for about 6 months a few years ago. I was able to
get like 360 a month for food it was pretty fucking crazy and to be honest
I was not comfortable with it at all. But ill tell ya I have never eaten
better in my life lol.

Why werent you comfortable with it?
I have never received any kind of government assistance before and I have been paying taxes since I was 16 years old. I feel like I have paid plenty into the system to deserve a little support with my food bill while I get a job and get back on my toes

It was just way more money than I expected to get and I could still afford to buy food without it but I would have had to keep it real with ramen and things like that lol.
Its not that big of a deal though as I have also been paying taxes since
about 17 so Im with ya there. My tax dollars get wasted enough as it is
anyways...

I doubt I'd qualify because I still live at my moms house, but its the same as any apartment. I pay rent and buy my own food, but I dunno if that qualifies me. I'm looking hard for a better job with more hours because I can barely live off of what I'm fucking making now, just not finding anything.
Some free fucking food would really ease my pain and my wallet. I spend half my paycheck just driving to work every day.

Yep, I kinda live with my mom. I live with a friend who I just pay rent to. I qualify. If you dont have a job or dont make a lot of money, you'll get them. They arent super restrictive for food stamps. You will only get 200$ a month like me but it's something
