my niece Alice's first birthday tomorrow. my sister is, of course, doing a wonderland theme. today we went out and picked up some stuff for decoration. really, we just got the little bush things and some fake roses which we modified for our purposes (i saw the topiaries and then the roses were in a basket under them and it just seemed perfect). this is what we ended up with. putting the topiaries together with the roses was easy and only took up may 20 minute. the rest slowly coalesced over the next 3 1/2 hours with a little construction paper, a sharpie, and a hot glue gun. there are two others, one with all red roses and the other with all white. this one is for the centre table (one of three) and is much more elaborate than the other two which are just bushes with roses stuck in them. i am never making card people again ....
next i have to help my sister make streamers/garlands, fml. as much fun as i had with her today (and i definitely needed something to focus on other than my thoughts as of late) i am exhausted.
