indoor 400w soil bagseed
    #621053 - 05/01/12 08:26 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Hello, this is my first grow, first post, long time lurker =)
Nothing special here, just figured id post my first grow in progress and see what kind of tips and feedback I get.

My setup is
-Bag seed for my beta test
-3x3 Tent from ebay (The cheap LED Wholesaler one from ebay) typically between 65-80 degrees about 20-40% humidity inside)
-Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil
-400w HPS w/ cool-tube(again a cheap Ebay purchase)
-For my inline fan, I am using a children's moon bounce blower (like those blow up castles kids jump in) it was free and it moves air like crazy.
-General Organics go box. I didn't use this until veg was over and I switched to 12/12.
-5 Gallon buckets

and now some pics, this batwing reflector was replaced with a cooltube shortly after.

Those are are old, my plan was to start this journal awhile ago but never got around to it. Grey bucket was never topped, so when it started to get big i LST'd the main cola down pretty far to make a more even canopy.  Anyways, and now them as of today, day 38 of flowering.

And from the tudes 420 special!

Its the Green house seeds mix G pack + pure kush
Barneys Farm Critical Kush
BF g13 Haze
BF Critical Kush
BF Pineapple Chunk
BF Auto Blue Mammoth
Dinafem Diesel
g13 Labs Skunk #1
all feminized, No clue which ones i'm gonna pop first.  If your interested in seeing a certain strain progress let me know and i'll make a journal for it.

assuming this is nute burn, this is the worst affected leaf

this is hard to see, only a few top leaves are affected.  Basically coppor colored markings..idk? calcium deficiency?

and on 1 of my plants, the leaves underneath the canopy are beginning to curl like a taco

Like i said, this is my first grow and I am prob wrong about each on of these problems but i'm researching as much as i can and its hard to find pictures that look exactly like my problems.  Any pointers would be awesome.

I'd say you're probably having some pH issues.

In person it looks between 6.5 and 7.  Not sure if its the camera or my monitor, but looking at the photo makes it look like a dead even 6.5.  These testers are really cheap, its probably a good idea for me to invest into something more reliable.  I've read that with the GO line, I shouldn't need to test my PH (and i assumed Ffof would keep a solid PH through a grow cycle, I guess I shouldn't assume anything).  I'm going to start testing PH everyday and keep a close eye on it.

Much thanks hawk, I have enormous respect for you, and greatly appreciate you taking a look at my journal.

All soil pH can fluctuate.  And since FFOF is predominantly Peat based, the pH of the soil can have a tendency to become a little bit acidic.  But I don't usually have have adjust it within the one cycle.

You always need to check the pH of the water you give your plants AFTER you add nutrients.  What the end result pH is depends on the pH of the water before you give the nutrients and how much of the nutrients you put in em.

It could be an issue with over ferting.  But with most people on their first grows they tend to overfert AND fuck up the pH.

Those leaves do look awful green though.  Than can be a sign of overfert.

I flushed each plant with PH'd water, I didn't notice how dark they were under the HPS, good looking out.  I also germinated the Pure Kush and Blue Mammoth auto, I'm gonna veg them under 4 floro tubes for awhile until I pick up another HPS (Gonna get a 600 this time and use my 400 for vegging).  They germinated in shot glasses in less then a day, and currently are already out of the soil.

Heres some more pics, only 5 days later the buds are visibly much bigger.  Some of the trichs are starting to get cloudy also, I tried to get a picture through my loupe.  I did not expect to get this far on my first try so this is very exciting for me lol.

Plant in the grey bucket starting showing nanners.  I picked 4 nanners off of it(not opened) and then the next day there was at least 10, with 1 that might have opened up right on the main cola.

I just chopped it, it was my least favorite of the 3 remaining (and by far the smallest yielding) and the other 2 could definitely use the space anyways. It was cut way premature with mostly cloudy trichs but NIL ambers.  Oh well, its only bagseed, and now I get to take a practice shot at drying and curing.

This was about 55 days from switch to 12/12 and about 45 days from first signs of pistils but I had no place to isolate it once the nanners started)

and my pure kush (left) and Blue Rhino babies(auto on right)

67 days (9 weeks and 4 days) flowering update...

Amber trichomes on leaves, but not on buds yet. New white hairs have emerged a few days ago. I've found 6 seeds on the lower budsites (all from the same stalk).

I have to remember to turn the HPS off when taking my next set of photos, sorry about that.

After drying, the premature plant that I harvested actually tastes pretty good, although I certainly could have trimmed it better.  Its not killer stuff by any means but its keeping my bong active.  Dried weight was just short of an ounce (26 grams but i did smoke a couple bowls before it was finished).  Very fun learning experience.

And then these guys again, waiting for their turn in the tent.
