Well maybe its the asian people who make it that decide to send all the broken stuff to USA, dunno man, because to be honest, pretty much all my friends have an X-Box and none of them had to change it, I have only seen complaints about the red ring on internet, so I don't really know whats going on.

Also quite possible. Just look at light bulbs, there was a company that was making some that lasted like 10 years, the problem is that it bankrupted itself because once someone bought the bulbs, they didn't have to buy any other of their products for 10 years.
It is sad to see thangs like that happen, but apparently high quality items just aren't worth it for the producters.
