Does one need a cool tube in each case with let's say a 150 W HPS?

Or can one just put the exhaust tube as close as possible to the lamp to suck off the heated air?
I'm talking about a cupboard cabinet 120/90/45.

Sure you can do that. It wont be as efficient as having an enclosed reflector, but it could help a little bit.

Only a little bit? :laugh:

I was thinking about drilling the exhaust hole in the upper part of the cabinet and the fresh air hole in the lower part so the heat can get out where it naturally goes to: up.
