Attack ads by presidential candidates
    #618311 - 04/15/12 09:00 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

No wonder our officials cannot get their fucking shit together. They spend so much
time attacking and fighting each others ideas and beliefs when they should be
working together to find the best course of action.

Fucking asshats all of em.

Fun Fact:
-Mexico has banned attack ads-

Fun fact, Mexico's elections are a joke so using them as an example is hilarious.

I do not recal using Mexico as an example of anything but the banning of attack ads.
Tell me where I said we should follow mexicos lead in elections...

The attack ads is obviously the only part I was referring to.  :flowstone:

Calling it hilarious is hostile? Man I'd hate to see you at a party when people laugh at your jokes.

Then that was a silly thing to say. We should indeed be following Mexicos lead
in that aspect.

I rather have attack adds, as opposed to a situation where someone couldn't be called out on their poor political choices and positions.  Honestly, if the american electorate can't differentiate between a relevant criticism and hiked up charges of illegitimate black babies, then our issues go well beyond what type of adds a candidates can run

Not to mention, the complete lack of real political alternatives on the national, and even, many times, the local level

I suppose I agree I just dont think its productive in any way. Its a pipe dream of
a belief but people should be educating themselves when it comes to the candidates. I just read a report that a large % of people 40 and over do not
go on the internet and do not even care to go on the internet based on some kind
of study. Ill try to find it.

But I mean look at who the people are going to get to choose from this November. Same bullshit over and over and over again. Even when people are told they are
voting for proven liars they vote for them anyways. Yes I am a Paul supporter
but I fear no matter who is in office it doesnt really matter.

The difference between candidate A and candidate B is about 1 degree.

The government under them is the same no matter who is in charge.

People today are either too scared of stupid to do anything to improve their conditions.
