Hey guys!! After a few months in absence, I'm back with a huge new project to take on! Since I left, I've gotten a full round of girls flowered. My wife and I were VERY happy with the results, but we're sure there's room for improvement. We got a .3 GpW ratio. A little over 2 pounds from 3000 watts of HPS. Definitely a good start for us, but I want to be pulling at least twice that from our second harvest. I'll be starting with 2000 watts, and then increasing to 4000 (maybe more if we can come up with the extra lights).
The room we've got to work with is a carport attached to the end of our double wide mobile home. I framed in the open end and boarded it up. Had to add a soffit to one side of the building to lock in the light leaks. I'm gonna leave the ceiling open, mainly because framing that in would be an additional 10 sheets of plywood, and I'm already gonna have to buy a few more to finish the walls (I had 18 sheets of 1/2 inch already, so I just need 3 or 4 more). There's also the fact that a few of the rafters, while still structuraly sound, they're too rotted to drill anything into them. I'll just use the makeshift "A"-frame and 10' 4x4 beam I already have.
I'm going to seperate it into 2 different rooms. An 8'x10' section for the veg room, and twice that (16'x10') for the flower room. I'm ALMOST done with the remodel now. I still have to replace the crappy holey door with a heavy security door. Then its on to finishing sealing up all the little light leaks. I've already used 2 cans of expanding foam sealant, and I'm hoping it'll only take one more can. I used a panda film wall to separate the two rooms. I'll be using velcro to make two doors in the panda film. One door will be used on a daily basis, the other will only be used when its time to bring plants out to trim and dry.
Well, I think that's all the ramblings I have for now. I'll have some pics to post soon. Really very excited about this!!! I'm hoping to get things into flower in the next 9 days...

Here ya go guys. Got some pictures taken and uploaded. Here ya guys go!
Here's the door. Snapped one of the door being replaced and one of it as it sits now. I still need to put 2x4's all the way around the frame, but that can wait for the time being.
Here's the front, a few days ago before I got the last panel up.
As you step in the door, the veg room is right there. You can see the wall of b\w poly I installed on the left, and the 8" fresh air intake that will be going through it on the top right.
Here you can see the 6" exhaust fan above the door, along with my medical patient paperwork next to it. There will be a tube going from there to the flower room to exhaust the hot air from that room (it'll need it the most, since it'll be starting with 4,000 watts).
Here's a better shot of the 8" cool air intake. I've just got it hanging down above the plants right now. Once we get the flower room fired up, it'll get slid through the panda film to cool that room.
Here's the flower room. I've actually got a real door separating the two. I had an extra one laying around, and it happened to fit just right! I still need to put up a second side of panda film, but that'll happen sooner or later. lol. Our partner has a bunch of scraps and spare pieces, so it'll get put up soon.
Here's the last pic for the night. Got a shot of my ghetto-fabulous shelves to hold the carbon filter and the ballasts. I wanted to keep them off the ground so I had as much floor space for plants as possible. Plus I'd rather not have cords on the floor where someone could possibly trip on them and damage plants or equipment with a fall.
So that's it guys! I'm super stoked for this grow. I've been working towards this exact thing for years now! We're gonna run soil for the first harvest or two (our partner has several girls that are ready to flower immediately), and then phase it out, replacing it with our hydro system. In the next couple of days, we'll be cutting some clones to start our first hydro run. I'll start a grow log to track the progress once we get the 4kw room lit up and running.

Man, I hear ya! The best part is I'm only paying $500 a month plus half the electric bill. The whole house only costs $1000 a month, and our partner is paying half of the bills (for 40% of the crop).

Well, we have a maximum of 45 plants we can have, but I doubt we'll have that many. Right now, we've got a large Maui in a 5 gallon pot, a Tragic Winter in a 2.5 gallon pot, and 10 Afgooeys in small 6" square. Pots in a 1'x3' flood table we've got. These will all go into flower on Friday, along with a few more large afgooeys in 5 gallon pots our partner is gonna bring up tonight or tomorrow. Today we just cut 15 new clones off the Tragic Winter, and we're gonna pop a femmed Master Kush seed here in the next week for the next cycle.
So, we'll have 30 for now, half in veg and half in flower. And once we start to finish up the first round, we'll cut MK clones...

I hate it when growers are "protective" of genetics. It's fucking stupid.

Yea, I agree. There's a lot about this guy's practices that I don't agree with, but honestly, I'm using him for the $$. 12 months, then we'll split ways, and it'll be all our profit instead of sharing it with him... But then, it is his very first strain he bred...

Yea, he should... But he's not really the most kharmically balanced person ever. He's always happy to find a new patient that doesn't know that the avarage price for an ounce of indoor in Seattle is around $175. He hates getting less than 250 an o... that just doesn't set well with me, you know?

Yeah, still just stuck in the old ways. I've had to adjust what I expect to get for price these days as well. I was used to selling it at 4 a #. It's hard to get 3 now. Average price is 28. People are happy to pay 200 for an O though down here in Portland.
