I have a 10' x 10' room with a door in my basement that I will be using as my new grow room. Out grown my little room down there! I'm going to paint it white (all the walls). should I paint the ceiling rafters? or cover it up? or just leave it alone? My little grow room that I'm using now (4' x 8') just have paint on the walls but not the ceiling rafters. Any input? Thanks
I have never grown before really but I dont think it would matter much. I think it's just whether or not you are bored and want it to look a little more professional. I dont think it would impact your yields

I think the effect would be minimal, but could see how it may slightly increase the amount of light reflected back downwards. Also, painting the wood puts a mask over the surface of the wood that may have molds and bacteria trapped in it, thus keeping some of it from dropping on plants, soil, etc.
I would do it, but a good high gloss white paint is only about $10 a gallon by me. Cheap investment IMO.
-------------------- I am not a cannabis grower. I find the cannabis growers to be the most open to experimenting and sharing out of all of the different botany groups I enjoy. I frequently use the suggestions that I find to apply to own organic gardening and food production.

I agree with all of this except one thing. Don't use gloss paint, to appear glossy it has to take in light. Flat is by far more reflective. Just saying.
