k, if you had the cash (not rich but had the cash) link me to your 1000w hps set up. 
need the 1000w light / hood / ballast / in line cooler / carbon filter etc... I dont know all the parts needed but you get the point of this post.
Im trying to price different 1000w set ups cus I wana get this shit started and I still dont know wtf Im looking at when I try to shop for deals yet still keep the quality. 
its going in a 4'x4' grow tent with about 4 plants

if i had the cash, id go with a LED system.
But because I dont, I am about to get a 600watt Hps/MH setup from HTG.
That's remote ballast, 6 inch cool tube reflector hood, 1 mh bulb, and upgrading the hps bulb to a hotilux bulb. After i get my vent fan,duct, filter ect, ill have about 350$ dished out on it.

Dimo114 may still have a good deal on a 1000 watt set up.
I bought his 600, and he made a more than fair offer on the other stuff he had.

That bulb is a peice of shit, just saying.
And 600 watts is better for 3x3, and 1000 is best for 4x4.

Mmm, I thought it was a good mid-level bulb. I was actually looking at an Agromax brand bulb as a replacement for an old bulb...any reason why you say that?

Yeah, plant growth is the main reason.
I prefer ultra sun bulbs, over all others.

I think htg prices are fair. As in the better the item/brand, the higher the price.
And I do still have a 1000 watt system for trade.

In ten years LED may be the way to go. But not now. I wouldn't waste the money even if I had gobs of extra cash just laying around.

Based on what all the growers I know personally say, allocate your funds towards a bulb you can get great results with a hortilux bulb and skimp a little on the ballast and reflector. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but like I said from what I gathered the quality of the bulb is of the most importance if your trying to allocate funds efficiently.

Hortilux bulbs are great bulbs indeed, but ultra sun bulbs are just as good, and a faction of the price.
Would also like to note, that it appears the ulta sun bulb hold on to their lums longer, than Hortilux.
But yeah the bulb plays a huge part in plant growth.

I agree and I think a reflector/hood is the second best thing to consider, especially with controlling temperatures the air cooled hoods with lenses will allow a higher wattage bulb in a smaller area and still maintain a stable temperature if set up properly with an in-line fan to pull out the hot air.
