I've been wondering about this a long time now and it seems to make more sense every time I think about it. Does anyone here flush, lets say, every 2 weeks? I see the need to flush at least once a month regardless, so why not reduce the stress regularly instead of waiting for the plants to burn? I have a feeling im really late on this...
So do you flush regularly? If not, when? If yes, how often?
I flush twice. Once 4 weeks into flowering, then again 1-2 weeks before harvest so they're arent' any nutrients left and they can do that whole thang....
My plants don't burn though. But then again I've been growing this same strain for a couple of years now and have it pretty dialed in.
-------------------- Dude she isn't as young as she use to be.
Soil I rarely flush very much. Maybe once going into flower, once half way through, and then a flush at the end.
Coir, I'm new to but I water until runoff each watering (nutes or just water). I had a little trouble with salt buildup last time, so I'll be following the Fox Farm suggestion of every 3 weeks or so just to be safe.
I never flush with like 5x the volume or whatever they suggest. I flush with 2x, and it works fine for me. Unless you have extreme overkill I can't see 5x being anything more than tedious.
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?
My first couple grows I flushed the bed of hydroton with clean, ph adjusted water, after every res change. that's probably overkill. this grow I flushed it once between veg and flower and just started another flush friday. but the main flush is toward the end of the plants life cycle. right before harvest, so that the nutes are used up and removed from the plants physiology. Buds that haven't been flushed before harvest are nasty in my experience. synthetic tastes, some sparks and crackles, perhaps a taste that doesn't match an awesome smelling flower, etc.
