ahhh relief. compost

I just finished moving a ton of compost out of my apartment. My life has magically gotten another 10% better. Looking back, I don't really know why I kept the compost inside but when I dumped it outside it literally steamed with stench and also life! My plants are gonna love it in the summer time!
Anyone compost their own shit? It's a good way to recycle incriminating evidence.
I'm sorta torn between compost and hydroponics. They initially seem mutually exclusive. I think about it more and it still seems that way. Is there no middle ground?

apple cores, coffee grounds, egg shells, bananas, carrot, potatoes, contaminated pftek cakes, oranges, pine needles, pine cones, dead leaves, junk mail catalogues/bills (not the shiny ones), cardboard
Also, I had this pint mason jar filled with the unfinished buds and leaves from my previous grow that I aborted due to probation and the general heat of the area. When I pulled it out from under the sink, bottom was covered in powdery feces and there were like MILLIONS of little spider mites crawlin around in there- it was trippy lookin to have that scene available in a clear jar. Anyway, I threw that shit in the pressure cooker for an hour and a half and then threw it in the compost as originally intended. So these weed scraps and pf cakes are the "recyclable incriminating evidence."
From what I've read, you need a good ratio of carbon to nitrogen- they say ~30:1. It was a whole bag of fresh coffee grinds so that's a boost to nitrogen as well as making it acidic. I also threw in some gypsum for good measure because it's a ph buffer, soil softener, and I've got a 40lb bag I don't really know what to do with. I don't really have a lot of green around in this season but hey, that's what male plants are for!

My buddy gave me the same reaction when I told him! I had 2 giant empty protein-shake mix jars with screw-on lids, ya dig? I didn't notice the smell or steam? until I gutted those fuckers just off my porch.

That's a big part of what inspired me to start composting as well as moving in the direction of a totally organic grow for weed, fruits, vegetables, herbs, bulbs, etc.
