Nearing my first harvest. Some questions

Hi fellow growers, I'm a first time grower on week 7 of bloom on a strain which is advertised as 8-9 weeks. I've been checking the buds with a jewellers loupe, and a microscope and the trichomes are still all white.
Anyways, I wanted to ask about flushing. I have read that in the last 2 weeks is where you flush your plants. But have also read that the last 2 weeks is when they produce the most. What do you guys recommend?
A friend told me to keep feeding nutes, then when they're ready to chop em and put em in a bucket bubbler to flush. Anyone? Tried this? What flush technique would you recommend for a beginner?
Also, what's the best tool to cut them down? Bolt cutters?
Cheers MagickZz

Only done flood and drain once but followed nute schedule to end and let it have another week to flush. This allowed the parts of the plant that were behind to catch up. Just what I did. Worked great.

flush for the last week, pick up some flushing solution like Advanced nutes Final Phase, i use it and it works very well. But pretty much all brands of nutes have a flushing agent. Heavy duty scissors or bolt cutters works fine for chopping the ladies down..

Personally I start my flush after seeing some signs of maturity. But the first three days I use a flushing agent, then for the last four to ten days just plain water. As far as flushing agents go there are many out there, I use FloraKleen, or Final Phase.
AS for cutting them down, I have a very sharp knife.

Thanks guys, I have lowered my nutes during watering (0.8ec). Because of other reasons, I can't really afford a flushing agent Anyways, the trichomes are starting to turn amber. Is it too late?

Should I let them go another week to flush? Or can I emergency flush? And if so, how is this done.

Give them at least 3 days of flushing but a week would be better. Just a thought.

I just called my local Hydro shop to get a price on a flushing agent. They told me they cannot give prices over the phone, new policy WTF?
They've given me pricing over the phone before. I think I'll be boycotting them.

If the trich's are just starting to turn you're golden, that's the signs I look for in hybrids, and indicas. You should have around 7 to 14 days til prime harvest.
And I don't know what's up with that store, mine will give prices, make sure it's in stock, and order what I want if it's not in stock, just to save me a wasted trip. But you're in Oz if I'm not mistaken? So maybe a different set of laws there.

I've never had a problem before and I dont think it has anything to do with laws. I think its just a shitty sales tactic to get me into the store.
Anyways, I've just ordered some Florakleen. Should be here in 2 days.
