Do you guys believe in the Sasquatch?

I just saw a documentary film about the sasquatch named Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science. It was aired on Discovery Channel, in this film, scientist were attempting to explain the Bigfoot phenomena, trying to for plausible explanations for it. I liked the documentary quite a lot, it tried explaining the viewings of Sasquatch, some explanations were: New ape species, primitive men, shamanistic ritual (isolation in the forest for more than a year), a new species of man that wasn't discovered yet...etc.
I had never heard about the shamanistic idea, it was quite new to man and frankly, it could be an explanation, in a way that when you have to survive in the forest by yourself, the fur you will get from hunt will become your clothes, also no shaving/cutting hairs, dunno it seemed plausible (but would surprise me). Also, they looked at the position of all the sasquatch viewing during the 20 last years, and they saw that it was always around a rocky forest covered region.
I read about some footprints found on the Himalaya in 1951, there is no way the persons who found it would have made it because they didn't have anything with them to make such footprints. Also, in Nepal, there is a monastery in which is apparently Yeti scalp ...
The Himalayan footprints:
T he scalp of a Yeti in the Khumjung Monastery, in Nepal
Also, most of you will have heard tales of the Skunk Ape in Florida if I am not mistaken, some viewings of this creature were reported in a period of 10 years (from 1960's-1970's).
This is a picture of the Skunk Ape in Florida
I personally believe in the Sasquatch, I think I saw one once when I was quite younger, a kind of huge hairy ape-like creature... We were on the edge of a forest, and we saw that thang staring at us from the forest, then it ran away and we heard a huge shout. What about you guys, have you ever had an encounter with such creature, or do you believe in it?

Fuckin' samsquanch.
I posted in another thread about how I saw one once. Shits no joke. Anyone who lives near a genuinely thick forest around here knows that theres some serious shit out there. We all just kinda keep it quiet.
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

Eh, there'd be WAY more physical evidence if they did exist. I call bullshit.

Some russian scientist told to the medias that they have found "undiscutable proofs of the existence of the sasquatch", they found them in Syberia. They found tracks, several hairs and footprints... I haven't found any more informations, but here are some articles about that:
http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/10/11/scientists-95-sure-bigfoot-lives-in-russian-tundra/ http://www.lifeslittlemysteries.com/1832-yeti-evidence-russia.html http://www.blippitt.com/russian-scientists-yeti-bigfoot-proof/
Maybe they are drunk buffoons, but maybe they are right also... who knows?

So they claimed they found these "hairs" back in october. If they had found hairs from an unknown species of animal, they would have run the DNA on the hair and it would have been ground breaking news. Since that hasn't happened obviously this is just more bullshit.

Well they found hairs, a skull, footprints, and also a kind of bed made of branches & other thangs, that was made by an animal, the scientists who examined it admits that no known animals have been reported to build such structure.

By the way new species of animals are still being discovered, some have been able to hide from the human.
Just in 2011, a new species of monkey was found in the Amazon, I am pretty sure the natives down there already knew about them, or at least had legends or tales about such animals. In 2005, in Africa, some scientists found a new species of ape, as tall as human, they knew how to hide from them, but the natives already knew about such apes, they were in their legends.
Tales or legends about Sasquatches, yetis, chupacabra, bigfoot, are found WORLDWIDE, in all the parts of the world, natives have legends about such creatures. I believe quite much in the knowledge of such people, and I am pretty sure that a creature like that, may it just be a yeti in the snowy mountains of the Himalaya, it can easily hide from us. For sasquatch/bigfoot, in the forest, creatures like that can also hide efficiently, also in the documentary I saw, they suggested that a ritual like burying the deads would make it very difficult to find remains or proofs.

A monkey in the middle of the forest is very different from a 6-7foot tall ape. Especially in places like oregon and shit where people claim to see them. We've discovered virtually all of the large mammals on the planet.
They also claimed that they were running dna tests. That was months ago. If this was something new it would be plastered all over the world news by now.

And after researching this "new" ape in africa your talking about it was never substantiated.
And even more research shows that it was just a sub-species of ape, not something new and crazy

That's cool to want to believe. But use a lot of scrutiny. Make sure people that are claiming these things are actually handing the so called "evidence of indisputable proof" over to the scientific community for test by un-biased parties. We have the scientific method for a reason.

I personally saw a creature sasquatch-like once, so I have no trouble at all believing in such myths.
And as I said before, there are myths or legends about these type of animals found pretty much in all the parts of the world, the natives have knowledge that may not be recognized by the scientific community. But I think such knowledge is as important/true as any scientific proofs, their legends aren't there for no reasons, they have a message to tell and is it why they are still being told today.
