I dislike the whole idea that facebook will be showing everyone all my past posts and shit. I used to be less paranoid about the whole thing, but now I don't post sensitive info...
And now they are taking that backlog and having it there for everyone to see? Fuck no.
I was considering just stopping using facebook, but instead I made a whole new one. Now I won't have a timeline. Fuck them man. I watch what I say and do on there now, so I don't care if a timeline starts from here on out.
Anyone else considering stopping using it or making a new one? Anyone else hate this timeline shit?

Well you can set it up so that only your friends can see your profile, dunno if you already knew that (probably)...
I don't post anything about drugs on mine, except maybe a joint will be mentionned from time to time.

well, lets just say I used to be REALLY stupid on mine and leave it at that.
That, and, I used to hang out with a lot of dick bags and whores (ex girls, fuckos from high school) just in general a lot of people I never wanted to see again.
I looked back at timeline, and it shows relationships starts and ends and wall posts from people and just EW.
I guess its lame to run away from your past, but its also lame to have it thrown in your face constantly, ya know?

With all this new internet legislation coming though, I have a facebook that is associated with some questionable content. I'm gonna be the first one to abandon ship if they start taking people down for social networking.
Not that they haven't already assassinated someone for it, I however try to keep things as philosophical as possible.

As far as I'm concerned theres nothing wrong with saying you're doing some drugs or posting pictures of a fist full of blunt wraps or whatever...but never any pics of said drugs or bongs or anything illegal.
Anyone can say anything, but pictures are a whole nother thing.
Still debating if I wanna re-add attitude...they have some killer give aways and thats where I hear about their promos...

my mom befriended me on facebook last summer. So, at that point, i decided to give up that account (i had it under my real name). Then got a new one using a pseudonym. I don't post incriminating things on there, but im much more open about the content that I do share. it's mostly drug policy and spirituality stuff though. i havent looked into this timeline thing. i saw someones profile was different yesterday but i rarely look at anyone elses page. Facebook is good to stay on top of my favorite bands, authors, scientists, musicians, etc.

I got sick of wishing distant family members and assholes from 6th grade happy birthday. Is it just me or has facebook jumped the shark? I guess I need to hit that ol dusty trail. Fare thee well half-assed messageboard, you've alienated one more user by revolutionizing awkward family on friend interaction and brought it to new heights in the 21st century.

The thing is, even before this timeline thing, you (and who ever else, depending on your settings) have always been able to go back and see every single thing you have posted. It has always been like this, only now it is much easier to see and navigate with the new timeline layout.
And even if you "delete" your account/page, I am pretty sure at any time after you can still log back in and reactivate it like you never left.
I've said a few things I shouldn't have on FB in regards to...well, it's obvious  . And it was mainly within the private messaging, not blatantly on my page, but still  ....not very smart of me.
Within my social circle, people posting on FB about cannabis and smoking isn't too uncommon, though at least 1/2 of em' do have their card. I've seen quite a bit of people post on FB that they're looking for a sack when they can't get in touch with anyone, and they're successful in finding some every time.
I use FB for is staying in touch with old friends, as well as artists & producers, finding out about underground thangs, art shows, parties, gatherings, etc...I post drug policy stuff, any news I come across that won't be found in mainstream news, and some funnies. Actually, I think I piss off a lot of people on FB as well, because I enjoy throwing my 2 cents into any random post/conversation I see  , even if I don't know any of them.
I have seen several people posting things on FB along the lines of, "Facebook is getting boring, I think I'm going to delete my account"...WTF?  . I never knew it was supposed to be entertaining. It is a damn social networking site, for networking, socially, keeping connections and what not.

I think it used to be like that, but people complained too much. If you choose to delete it and don't log in for 2 full weeks it'll be "deleted". I mean, you're probably still in the server somewhere, but its inaccessible to the general public.
And yeah, I mainly use mine to plan things and share funny pictures. I've recently taken to deleting all my statuses as I post new ones. Keeps everything uncluttered.

I've stopped my facebooking of incriminating things long ago. I have an article here or there about policy, but I mostly keep it clean.
I use it to keep in touch with friends, and to talk nerdy to people. I've also talked to a lot of people in highschool that I always felt to socially awkward around to even talk to really. There are also all the people I troll when they act-a-fool on face book.
Facebook for me is Politics, celebrities (of the nerd-core variety), and networking.
