I generally like to veg my plants through week 2, repot at week 3, flower after week 4 and some topping.
I just noticed at about half way through week 2, I have some roots escaping the bottom of my cups. I've never really had this before.
I'm probably going to repot within the next few days, but its inevitable that I'm going to break off some of the root tips that are sticking out of the bottoms of the cups...
How much does that damage my plants? I'm worried for them! Even the ones in the bigger half gallon pots are poking out already. I don't really have the room.
just be gentle and everything will be fine breaking a few roots is no big deal if you don't transplant them they will get "light pruned" anyway and stop growing.
