I just caught it rewatching the season.
In the episode where the gang got shooshed in the hipster bar, they are talking about the shoosher and "what if I was a madman!?" which lead to Dennis saying "I could be a man with a fistfull of hammers, and a trunk full of duct tape and zip ties."
In the second part of the high school reunion episode, thats exactly what was in his trunk.
