 CO2 Reactor with Brewer's Yeast Dietary Supplement

SWIM made a CO2 reactor and the yeast used was from a dietary supplement, brewer's yeast; very similar to this. It's been a few days now and there's yet to be any bubbling in the water-lock, SWIM did attempt activating it by soaking the yeast in warm water for 30 minutes before mixing with the sugar water solution. The reactor container is a 5L rectangle with two hoses running to a 350mL waterlock, with a single hose running out for the plants.
I've been unable to find any discussion or anecdotes on using a brewer's yeast dietary supplement, so would anyone be able to shed some light on whether or not it actually activates?

Why not just buy actual brewing yeast instead of a nutritional supplement?

I bought a $7 packet of turbo yeast and made some hooch in my grow room with it. I'm sure that let off lots of co2.
