So, if you read in the PWYS thread you'll know I just lost the breaks in my car and kinda crashed it a little.
It was undoubtedly the break lines, because they were really bad.
How much am I looking at (estimate) to have them fixed? The lines replaced.
FUCKING RIGHT AT GODDAMN CHRISTMAS.

Why should that mean it isn't real?

Well now is it just the rubber lines or all the lines? Most likely just the rubber ones, but had to ask. The lines most likely run about 10 to 35 bucks a piece. Then if you go to a shop, they'll most likely charge 50 to 100 bucks an hour on top of parts. It could take them up to 4 hours to replace all four. Shit adds up quick don't it. If you lived closer to me, I'd cut you a deal no shop could match.

Yep, just buy the parts and find a redneck. No shop needed.

Sucks man, did you break for a squirrel? if you let him live props man, be happy about that ahha
I know that the local highschool around here has an auto class/shop and you can have them work on your car for free if you have the parts and shit. Just befriend someone. I have friends who are into automechanics so when I had problems with the car I used to have, since I know very little about cars I had a friend who would do it just for the knowledge but I rewarded him most of the time. I totally should have payed attention in my mechanics classes

I have nothing to add to this thread except this: The word you're spelling as "breaks" is actually spelled "b-r-a-k-e-s".

I think I knew that, but just didn't apply it haha. I don't use the word very often, now I feels facepalm man.

I totally let a dog live the other day, it dodged a car in the other lane and ran into mine and I swirved and breaked a little, Fortunately I haven't hit an animal. My grandma hit and killed a bunny on easter awhile back and came to our house crying about the bunnies family

Also, I probably should have mentioned that we have a car guy.
I'm not sure he does a cheap job, but he always does a good job, and a fast job...which are both priorities for me right now. I need to get to work and theres no way in fuck I'm bumming rides for more than a week.
I was just wondering wtf he was gonna charge me for it. I'm 99% sure its the rubber hoses...I dunno, I just know someone told me it was "all rotted out under there" when I replaced a gas line not too long ago.

Oh shit! You're right! Hahahaha I didn't even think of that.
When I woke up this morning my grandpa had the car all up on the jack, tire off, digging some shit out of it. He already had the new break line and hes fixing that fucker up right now. I guess I get out of paying for labor anyway...what a cool dude.
Hopefully he fixes it.

You should be out there helping him and learning how to fix it yourself next time. That good old fella won't alway be around to fix your car for ya, you know.
