 Herb Grinders and Sifters: Post your grinder!

It's been over 10 years since i have smoked some herb. Anyways, I was online at everyonedoesit.com looking at bongs and vapes, and i stumbled across their grinder/sifter range.
Back in my day just used to cut our herb up with scissors. Lazy ppl would use the coffee grinder, lol, or some other kitchen appliances, though i never used one myself.
Anyways, I been thinking of getting myself a grinder, I'm just wondering whats with the sifter/screen on them?

I just think its weird ppl would sift it out. Wouldn't they rather smoke it with their bud lol? Does it make much difference to your smoke?> As in make it weaker?

Instead of breaking it up with your hands and possibly losing some keif that gets stuck to your fingers or whatever, it's all saved in your keif box..you can sprinkle it on the same bowl you grinded.
Instead of some crystals falling off into your carpet or w/e theyre caught in the keif box.

In all honesty, much of the bud you were probably buying back in the day was already sifted to some degree...I know mine was. Until I started growing my own, I had never seen a plant covered in trichs like I do today.
Will it make your smoke weaker? Probably a little bit. Will it be noticeably weaker and not get you high? Nope.
Might as well sift it a bit and get some nice quality hash.

Two chips on the left are from the 40 something micron bag, and the two on the right are from the 25 micron bag and they're bubble hash.
The little chip in the middle is some finger hash from the trimmings last night.

For those of you looking at grinders
Look for these brands, these are all awesome
Spacecase
Kannastor
Chromium Chrusher
Mendo Mulcher
Sharpstones are a good budget grinder. I have had a couple sharpstones, a spacecase, and a kannastor
Kannastors are nice because they are ~ 40 - 70 depending on which one you get. they also have removable screens which as far as I know no other brand offers
Space case makes the absolute nicest, smoothest grinders. They are also pretty pricey, I had a $120 titanium 4 stage that was sick as fuck but the screen ripped and then it got stolen, but after the screen ripped it was heartbreaking
Chromium crushers and mendo mulchers I dont know much about but I have heard they are on par with spacecase and kannastor
Also, 5 stage grinders are a gimmick
I foolishly bought one and the top screens holes are too big, allowing a bunch of plant material to go through. and the bottom screen is too fine and it dosent let any kief get through only crumbs of herb
Best bang for your buck would be a sharpstone 4 stage 2 - 3" grinder
Ebay usually has good deals on sharpstones
If you want a kannastor hit me up I can get you a really good deal from work
spacecase I dont honestly know where to get, im sure they are all over the web though

I have a chromium crusher. I don't have the screen anymore, and have no pictures but mine looks much like Stoneth, FB, and 81's,
My experiences with the chromium crusher.
The reason the screen is missing: my friend borrowed it for the night (I had no bud and he wanted it to grind up some bud for that night when he smoked on his roof out in the country). He dropped it, his house is 3 stories tall and he was basically at the very top of the roof, and when it dropped the screen popped out so I just got rid of the middle section. It's the same reason I don't have the magnet that plugged the center hole anymore either, but not a single tooth broke... however he did lose all his weed in his grass. So the only negative I can say from this example is that it won't stay shut after a 3 story fall, and the screen may pop out of the grinder if you do so.
Why I would suggest it to anyone: Free carrying case, and strong as fuck teeth. it has the diamond shaped teeth inside of it, and I have literally smoked exclusively brick weed out of it basically (but it has had its teeth on some good shit). I even shove the wee in there while it is still bricked up and it chews right through it, it make have a rough first turn or two but that's it. And I'm not talking about stuff that was slightly compressed, I'm talking about that brick weed that feels like it's a rock.
Downside: It cost me 50 bucks. But in comparison my friends "titanium crusher" cost him 20 bucks and a tooth broke after like 5 months. Grinders cost a lot out here though, as is everything in head-shops here in kansas (other than new pipe screens).
All and all just make sure you get a name brand one with diamond teeth, but yours looks pretty bitching too. I like "novelty" grinders too. I almost bought one I saw at a head-shop that was a poke-ball.

in my experience kannastors are the best
the quality of metal seems very high, it has a good looking black top. real clean like.
a lot of people dont like them because it doesn't grind fine enough
but personally, i adore the fineness you end up with. its absolutely perfect for me. i dont like it to end up like a powder, i like it with tiny little chunks and what not.

Yeah I had the 3" purple titaniums 4 stage and it was indeed worth its weight in gold
probably the most perfect grinder on the face of the earth
Cost me like $130 though and then the screen ripped and it got stolen

it's not about laziness. i sure can't break up my weed as fine as a grinder does. I like it like that for joints. plus the grinder catches all that extra golden goodness that falls below.

I ended up buying the cali crusher grinder that rasjeph shared in his ebay link. Also got the grenade grinder on its way.
And I ended up buying a Vapir Oxygen, which also comes with a grinder. Got 3 now, lol
