Spreading misinformation. This angered me.

A woman who participated in Dr. Oz's medical marijuana debate episode stated: "I'm concerned about using marijuana to treat mental illness because marijuana causes paranoia." Just like that. She stated that like it was a fact. And you better believe many people took it as a fact.

The correct thing to say is that marijuana CAN cause paranoia in high doses.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

not even. Once we remove the criminal aspect of cannabis use then we can have a real study of whether or not cannabis itself causes paranoia. I really feel my paranoia is all about the illegality.

This is new to you? People have been spreading misinformation about drugs for decades now. Is pisses me off too. How they get away with it? I guess because the majority of people believe whatever they hear and are too lazy to do their own research.
Take this for example. I'd love to break it down and point out just how fucking ridiculously wrong these people are, but I'm pretty sure you'll all get it.
Quote:
Reality doesn’t always look like a very nice thing. For that reason, a lot of people choose to escape from it. Any means is welcomed with open arms, open minds and open mouths just to attain a state of pure indifference to it. Even drug addiction.
LSD or Lysergic Acid Diethylamide is a drug that’s considered a club drug. It has the ability of transferring a person into a state of imagined reality that looks far better than the actual thing. Usually ingested by mouth, LSD exists in either tablet, capsule or liquid form. It’s also common to chew or swallow the drug when its on a piece of blotter paper, making users feel secured from the dangers of being criminally charged due to possession of paraphernalia.
Though LSD does not normally trigger physical dependence, psychological addiction to it is almost always the case with people who start to use it. With its psychedelic side-effects, it doesn’t take long to understand why. But, tripping on LSD is a matter of having the proper mindset before the drug is used. Good mood gets amplified once the high is attained. In the same way, if the drug is used while under depression, the sadness and misery become too much to bear when the rewards from the drug are reaped.
Bad trips refer to effects of LSD that are not very desirable. Among all psychedelic drugs, LSD has the most potential of delivering bad trips. During these difficult periods, suppressed painful memories may be revisited again, rendering the user traumatized and terrified. A classic nightmare, they can be. The only difference is that a nightmare can be dispelled upon waking up. In a bad trip, the length of the high must wear off before the person can fully grasp his/her return to reality.
Delusions are also normal when tripping on LSD. A user may get a sense of being powerful beyond means that he/she may engage in activities that can get life-threatening. Behavior that’s not commendable may also develop, putting an individual in a state of danger that’s harmful on so many levels. What makes this even more alarming is that the person will not be aware of the destruction he/she may begin because consciousness and awareness do not exist.
Obviously, resorting to LSD to escape from the annoying features of reality is not the best decision a person can make. Drug addiction must never be an option, period. It’s the only thing that can make the not-so-friendly reality look actually better, once the harsh effects manifest.

Paranoia only exists for me because cannabis is still illegal. That's why I can't wait to get to a cannabis friendly town one day.

I really really REALLY fucking wish I lived in a medical marijuana state. I know we've gone through this before, but just from eyeballing your own stash is it pretty much true that bluish and purplish strains are indica. (same root as indigo?)

And I don't get why you would become paranoid/anxious.

Then just don't care about it. Honestly I've always thought anyone that gets paranoid on weed, without a "close call" with the cops, was just wierd. I used to have major social anxiety, still do when I don't smoke, but I've never once gotten anxiety for no reason at all while smoking/high. Then again I never question reality or things like that when I'm only smoking weed; I just sit back and play me some video games or listen to music.

Saying paranoia comes from the illegality of the herb only rings true to some smokers, definately not me. Ill never let the possibility of being arrested stop me from having a good time. But the 3rd voice in my head telling me that the girl sitting behind me in the car wants me to say something to her, always bothered me when im high as tits, and only when im high as tits.
