So the stupid hydro store I used to go to shut down. Now there isn't one literally for 50+ miles in any direction. I have to drive so far just to get my supplies.
I can't afford to ship the perilite here I need for my grow. I already have a bunch of seedlings popped up from rockwool cubes, about 5 days old. The roots are poking out of the bottom and creeping around now. I have them in a plastic bin, which I have put a little water in (they quickly soaked it up, so I put a little bit more). No more than like a quarter inch.
Since I REALLY can't afford to have the damn perilite shipped to me, I have to find an alternative way to grow. They're already in the cubes. Obviously shipping soil to myself is much too expensive as well.
I'm not quite sure what to do. I have found some perilite available at Lowes but it has Miracle Grow nutes on it. I tried it before (mixed about 50/50 to coir) and it just killed the shit out of my plants.
I wanted to do a hempy thing, but now IDK wtf to do. Does anyone have some suggestions? I figure I have about a week before these things are much too big and really need something to be done with them.

You can buy Perilite from most hardware/gardening stores, its used alot for regular potted plants

Yeah, but unfortunately all the shit I'm finding has Miracle Grow nutes right on the perilite itself...

"Enriched with Miracle Grow plant food"  Maybe washing it would work?
Edit: Probably mixed into soil its OK as is, but I'm wanting to do hempy buckets with the shit, so its my only medium

Just saw on another site that it is ~"0.04-0.01-0.06 NPK value"...is that enough to fuck with my shit?
Would giving it a real good flush work?

Not confident enough with hydro to give you any pointers, but I will say that I bet there has to be plain old planting mix perlite in a store near you somewhere

I wouldn't push it because even that low quantity of nutrients is still shitty ass Miracle Blows.
Honestly, EVERY hardware store has perlite. I promise if you look around you'll find it. Or just suck it up and drive 50 miles for this one grow but plan ahead so you get all your stuff in one trip and don't have to go a bunch. Honestly 50 miles isn't really that far

How many plants are you planning to run?
In what size pots?
Maybe I could help you out, I have a good bit of coco coir laying around.

I'm not sure, I'm still waiting on some to pop from the cubes. Right now it looks like 16 are good to go. I'm just using solo cups in a SOG. Just something real small as an experiment. Little to no veg time.
If you wanna make a trade, feel free to  me. That'd be pretty cool

Drive to the hydro store and just buy some hydroton clay pellets, and use drip feeding or DWC and you can reuse the pellets over and over again.
