 5x5x7 1000w Dual Arc tent grow

Just started some AK47 femmed seeds to use as mothers. As you can see the moms are in pots using a 50/50 peatmoss and perlite soilless mix.
I'm using the following equipment:
5x5x7 Secret Jardin tent
1000W Dual Arc bulb/ballast (400mh and 600hps in one bulb)
CoolStar plus air cooled reflector
6' Canfan & Carbon filter
18 site Hydro table from BC northerlights(not shown)http://www.bcnorthernlights.com/grow-kits/hydro18-table
3 part micro/grow/bloom from Advanced nutes, BudCandy and bigbud for flowering.
I vent out my window aswell as draw cool air in through 6' ducting. My temps where still up there, 29c, so i added a coolmist humidifier to the tent and it brought it down to 27c which is just right.
I won't update this thread for another 4-5 weeks, until i clone from the moms, so till then Happy growing!

lol wish i didn't have too either! Changed from micro/grow/bloom to sensi bloom A+B as base nutes for flowering, ends up being slightly cheaper than the 3 part, still from advanced nutes. Also i bought a miystic cloner from stealth hydroponics....after getting the thing i kick myself for not just making one lol, though it was only $68 on sale, but all it is is a 5 gallon tub with a misting unit in the bottom, and ofcourse 18 2inch holes in the lid for 2' pucks, no sprayers just a misting bubbler in the res, if it works well i know i can make one the same for about $25... check these pics...
gotta be the cheapest way to make a cloner i've ever seen   lol

Thanks, i really dig the dual arc bulb, when i grew in a normal room i always had a 400W MH going with a 1000W HPS for flowering, but when i switched to a tent i can only use 1 bulb due to heat build up, so the dual arc was perfect... I'm looking forward to this AK47, never grown it b4, i read it will flower fully in as little as 6 weeks.

The ballast needs to be a regular 1000w HPS, i use a switchable magnetic ballast with it, in HPS mode.

theres only about a $20 differance in price where i buy my stuff between a HPS and MH 1000w ballast....$179 for hps and $159 for mh... Still the dual arc gets rid of the need for a MH ballast and bulb for vedging... plus if your like me and prefer to have the entire light spectrum during flower then its a good deal in the long run, only thing is the only place i can get the dual arc bulb from near me runs about $100...still i think its worth it...

You right about that, its always better to have pure MH to vedge, i have a 400w digital ballast that will be running a mh and going into my clone/mom tent when i get it. but right now i only have my main tent so the dual arc will do fine to vedge the moms till i get my second tent up and running..i was planning to have both tents for this grow, but my financial situation didn't permit me to buy the second small tent yet...maybe next month

Next time u can afford it u should sell your current ballast and buy a Digital 400w ballast, they run both types of bulbs, but they are a bit more costly but its worth it in a single light grow room.
Ya its never as cheap as you think it will be...but tis worth it in the end when you consider how much $$ u save when u don't have to buy your smoke. I don't even smoke that much anymore, i think i get more enjoyment from growing the plants and watching them mature. lol I just germinated 3 Lowryder2 auto flowering seeds to throw into my tent since my hydro table only takes up 1/2 the space, nvr grown any auto flowering seeds b4, i know the plants stay tiny but should be interesting....

I seem to have run into a small problem, two of my plants are drooping for no apparent reason, yesterday they looked fine, their not thirsty as i watered them with plain water at 6.5 PH. Yet this morning 2 of them do not look happy at all Anyone know if cold air could cause this? the ambient temp i n my tent is 24-28c but last night the temp outside dropped to -4c so the air intake was cold, but the tents temp nvr dropped below 24c. I was thinking since the cold air comes in from the bottom of the tent could it have just chilled these 2 plants closest to the intake? as the third plant seems to be ok at this point... anyways check the pics and let me know your thoughts.

Well after 6 hrs of the light being off the dang plants are fine again, lol weird, think i might have over watered them, luckily it was just PH balanced water with no nutes, so i guess they just needed some sleep to recover lol Sooo all is good in the world again....atleast my lil corner

Well thought i would do a quick update with a few pics...its coming along nicely, gonna be 2 or 3 weeks b4 i can clone the 18 i need to fill my table though. Decided to run the lights 24/7 till then..

i think it is, but in all fairness i never have tried regular soil. lol but i never have to transplant, or mix soil with solid nutes or anything. you should try a small deep water culture setup next time, their pretty cheap for a 4 or 6 plant system... check this link out and you'll see how cheap they can be...DWC

thought i would do an update. I took 14 clones from my 3 plants, though right now it looks like 2 or 3 might not make it, time will tell, its my first time using a cloneing machine rather than rockwool and a dome. I also hung my 250w MH in the tent till the clones are ready as it produces little heat compared to the big 1000w, since the clones don't like it too hot.

I also decided to buy a different cloner, one with a proper manifold and misters that does 36 clones at a time. Will share pics of it when it arrives. I plan on flowering the 2 smaller plants out of the three i took clones from, the largest and healthiest one i am putting under my 250w MH to keep vedging for clones until my Orange Bud moms are ready to give babies. Though no pics of my OB plants as my friend is seeding them and sexing out moms for me.

Thanks man, took another 4 clones today, though that iffy one from the second pic doesn't look like its going to bounce back, but the others that looked bad are looking like they will, so i'm hoping to get 17 clones, 1 shy of filling my table. but the two in pots and them auto seeds will make up the difference.

Nice mix of strains your getting. though u might wanna get some non femmed seeds to get a stable mom for clones if you decide to go that way. thinking my next seed purchase will be lemon Skunk or Old Skool..not sure yet though, apart from my AK and Orange Bud i have Moroccan Black aswell. friend of mine has white rhino, think i may grab a clone or two from him to start a couple moms from... though not till i move into a place with more space...

How is it growing the AK strain.
Is it noob friendly? After watching your grow, it's definately a strain I wanna try.
The Ak47 seems to be easy to grow, supposed to flower in 7 weeks or under, which is great for a plant that has 90% sativa genetics.

I find air cooling is a must in a tent when using MH/HPS lights, unless your using 250w bulbs. make sure you vent the hot air from the light into another room or outside if you can. i get a bit of heat stress in my plants now and then in the summer as my apt can hit 28c mid-day,and the dual arc bulb runs hot, even with my coolstar tube, though i have a crappy suncort inline fan in the ducting for my aircooling gonna buy a 6' canfan when i can afford it which will help for cooling..though i'll wait till spring since the winter has started here and my intake air will be freezing cold so i may not even need to have the air cooling on. lol

thought i would post a small update, if anyone else was as skeptical as i was about that cloner i got , with just a mist maker in the res, today, day 8 of cloning 3 of the 15 clones in the unit showed real root formation, and the rest look like they will in the next few days. so it obviously will work. but it seems to be slower than my friends aero cloner, as his shows the same signs in about 4 days....can't wait to get mine.

Just thought i'd post a couple pics of the new aerocloner i got the other day, moved my clones into it today. 1/2 of the clones are now showing root growth. I also took 2 more clones from my #1 plant and added them into the new machine, wanna see if they root any faster than they did in my mist cloner...
