name that strain
    #591866 - 10/12/11 07:31 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

whats a good nautically themed weed name?

anything oceanic, boats, explorers, beaches, etc.

i feel like it would probably depend on the buds qualities, but this is just hypothetical fun :]

I like weed that has a name that describes a particular characteristic of the bud/plant or one that captures the essence of the plants taste, aesthetics, aromatics, etc.  I really hate the random strain names out there.

Nori would actually be a pretty good one if the bud matched the smell and taste or at least the color of seaweed.

I really hate the marketing aspect of the cannabis seed trade.

Imagine how many less breeders there would be making seeds if the results were the only things that sold seeds. Instead of hyping up seeds saying they're limited edition, the parents aren't around anymore, etc etc.

I find it amazing how important it is to people buying cannabis seeds or flowers the name or apparent pedigree. I've seen people buy absolute shit who were happy to say "It's freaken White OG Double Berry Skunk Fire Kush!, man."

I get it. And I never said I was going to do this, its just a hypothetical fun thing.

My friends and I live at a beach, and we were chatting about what we'd name our weed if we ever made our own. We decided we wanted something beach themed, but couldn't come up with anything. The internet is a creative place, so I asked.

I know names are nothing. I've been tricked by G-13 Labs once or twice and learned that lesson the tough way.

That, and anyone can say anything is anything. I don't even bother telling people who don't know I grow what the strains are. I've seen many bags of "master kush", "sensi star", "white widow", etc and they're all the same bullshit kiefed canadian merch weed everyone else is smoking under a name the dealer tricked people into believing.

I've heard a lot of weird names there was this one guy who me and some of my friends bought off of who didn't really care to advertise names unless he had it on good authority that something was what he was told it was or of course if the kush he was sold would legitimately pass for kush.

There was a time when he had quite a bit of this really nasty smelling bud he called "Dirty Laundry" because it smelled like body odor or old gym clothes or perhaps old sweaty shoes. Musky as hell too. Quite possibly as lethargic as they come smoke this stuff too heavily and you may as well be a drunken mess for an hour. I smoked about half a joint with a friend as I was curious as to how it tasted and it tasted earthy/hashy/soapy and I found myself unable to steer myself straight stumbling on and off the sidewalk and I was nearly mistaken as to which house was mine coming home. To give you an idea of how strong this stuff is the joint was probably less than half a gram and I probably smoked less than half of that and I'm definitely left less bewildered smoking a half gram of OG Kush than I was smoking that awful stuff. I don't do so well smoking weed that leaves me clueless and clumsy.
