well let's think of it this way... Over the last hundred years we have seen the population grow enormously, mainly due to health advances and increase in agricultural production.
Also what we've seen in the last 100 years is the introduction of the use of planes, cars and other motorized transportation.
If the population continues to grow at this rate who knows what's in store. Certainly more and more resources will be used and more energy burned. Never before in the earth's history have we seen a species with the energy needs of humans.
Either way it is a huge assumption. But given the rapid changes in the last hundred years; rapid human population growth, use of fossil fuels ect it's not hard to propose that we are changing our planet faster than we can handle. It is also only getting worse.
100 years is a short time for all this to happen IMO. And certainly a short time in regards to the cycles of the planet.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.

i'd be happy with no "technology" and living like the Indians used to, hunting and gathering, smoking the peace pipe, living off the land and respecting it.
