Not sure if you guys have nearly as much trouble with bugs eating up up on your young crops as I do here, but here's something you might be able to use. Many plants like citronella or lemon balm are natural repellents. I put several handfuls in boiling water to make a tea of sorts and water the plants with it, and bam, no more annoying ass little insects chewing on my lady. I also suggest using fresh cayenne peppers either in the water, or you can cut them in half and rub the halves along the side or your pot [container]
Just a note though, I don't much attention to PH levels in soil, this could possibly change them. But I haven't noticed any problems with the plant since I started doing this, she's gone through flowering beautifully. Good luck!
