How is your semester looking? what classes do you have?

So far mine is looking to be pretty easy. I should be able to pull decent grades as long as I keep showing up to class each day

My schedule:
GCU 121- World Geography
BIO 100- Introduction to Biology
MUS 355- Survey of American Music (3rd time taking this class :crankey: )
SOS 320- Society and Sustainability

I thought I had close to 70 credits, turns out I only have 48

I have an intense looking semester, and whole year ahead.
Think my first semester is biology, math, physics, chemistry, psychology, and a philosophy course.

Good luck to you :awesome:

Damn, nothing but sciences basically. That actually should be a pretty easy semester, those are all general classes

You find arts more difficult?
I am decent at pretty much all of that lineup except for physics but luckily that class is the lowest level of em all.

Is trig your math?

I could never take bio and another science at the same time, to much regurgitating memorized BS to me.

I too have a harder time with arts. The only artistic thing at all i'm good at is creative writing/literature.

If you want an easy grade take World religions at some point after Philosophy. The overlap is huge.

Are any of those sciences general/intro or are they all 101?

Lol, it took me 3 times to pass College algebra because i smoked to much weed and skipped class to much to pass.

Helping my GF with her science classes is keeping my on my toes. lol
She's taking Bio and Chem II with trig and Comp II and speech.

I might be taking trig as an intersession class for the fall but i don't know yet.

I can't wait to start ...

So far it will be a quite relax semester:

-Anthropology of language
-Theories of anthropology
-Native american's cosmology (on internet)
-Statistic shitty class ...

I have classes : Monday: 12h30-3h30
                Thursday: 8h30-3h30

I think the math is calculus.
I find arts easier for the most part except long opinion papers. But I am more interested in science and better economic opportunities I think.

That third class sounds interesting gaskelort.
Statistics are the worst...

I'm not in school anymore, but that sounds like a fun semester  I would enjoy pretty much all of those classes.

What happened with the credits thing? I hate how schools dick you around with stuff like that. good example; I missed a minor in geology by half a credit   Who's going to go back for another full semester for half a credit?

No, I definitely find sciences to be both harder and more fun than arts classes but all your sciences are lower division/ entry level courses so those tend to be fairly easy

Harry- I am looking forward to my classes for sure, all of my teachers are pretty good. My geography teacher talks soft and kind of mumbles to herself but she's not too bad, we'll see how hard she makes her tests

I'm either going to work in addiction research or evolutionary psychology, leaning more towards the latter since it incorporates a broader scope of my interests.  Either way I'm going for my doctorate in the field.

Personally I though the end of Chem II was a bit of a bitch. I got some of the best grades on the last couple tests but I actually had to study. Which I seldom ever do because my memory is a lock box practically. Chem I and II was my first classes was probably bad for my grades since I had a habit to be smoke until literally the moment I had to walk/bicycle/ride my a motorcycle.

I'm pretty sure my whole class knew though, I was a pretty obvious stoner.

I'm not really saying it's going to be the hardest thing in the world because it was easy once I actually tried. But 5 people out of my class of 15 dropped the class during the last 9 weeks of the Chem II semester, and a good amount of those people were not known for just dropping classes.

Upper division Chem courses can definitely get challenging, especially O-chem but drawde is just taking Intro Chem which is a cake course

BATS- that's awesome, I like school too, I wish I was progressing a bit more quickly but hopefully I can cash in on another 14 credits this semester and get some good grades to replace some shitty ones. What kind of work do you do?

Not having a shitty job your entire life, getting better pay, and gaining more knowledge.

If you can't get a 2.0 in junior college at the very least you're probably to stupid to expect graduating in the first place.

Also cheating in HS just shows how stupid you were in this first place. I got a 1.8 in high-school but that was just because I knew my ACT/SAT alone could get me into whatever college, and I already had a hand full of scholarships offered.

I'd keep my mouth shut if this could be considered flaming, but I'm pretty sure it's just the truth.

Then gtfo of the "fellow students thread."

Btw, Online degrees are more difficult most of the time because there is next to no lecture and they have less credibility.
It will be especially more difficult since you seem to need cheating to pass high school.

I'm 90% sure you're just trying to troll bait us with you're post. I really don't think you could possibly be real.

An Hero plz.

I dont really know what the education system is like in the states but I think it varies a little from here.  I already took intro college courses in high school that are equivalents so you do not have to take the intro in college.

If you can't do college, ut a fake degree on your resume or sell dr00gz.

Or, spend your life working a minimum wage job and spend your salary on alcohol and cough syrup.

:muppet:

Life's full of choices.

I cant wait to graduate. I still have a full 2 years left, all going well. I just hope they dont cut off my financial aid, this semester is a huge make or break 6 months for me. Right now my GPA is a 2.15 after failing all my classes last semester when I got screwed up in drugs and shit. I simply cant let ANYTHING stand in the way of me getting a 3.0 this semester

When I was hard into drugs, I didn't take school seriously. I ended up skipping classes
and failed all of them since I didn't withdraw in time. I ended up starting with a 0 GPA.

Now I have a 3.1 GPA.

I think if I talked to a counselor and explain the situation on why I skipped my classes,
they may drop those grades on the transcript. You may be able to do the same.

Anyway, you can do it!

What are degrees really good for?  Honestly, what exactly does going to school do for you?  Are you aiming for a house?  Are you aiming for a high-paying job?  What is it?

I'm aiming for a degree so I can have a job/career that I love doing.

With that career comes money that I can use to buy a house, drugs, food, video games, and
sweet top of the line ownage computers. Not to mention, I'll have money to travel to
different parts of the world, and be able to vacation in Hawai'i or Fiji like it ain't no
thang.

It's a better alternative than being stuck with a crappy 8-6 job that doesn't even pay enough for rent.

Thanks man, that is exactly what happened last semester. The good ol' 0.00, which luckily only dropped me to a 2.15 meaning I was still eligible for financial aid and loans since I wasnt even put on academic probation. But I did get an email warning from FAFA saying that I must complete 67% of my attempted credits this semester or ill be cut off. Basically got to pass 3 of the 4 but that isnt even acceptable to me. I need to pass all of them

I thought I had 70 credits already and turns out I only have 48. Shitty.

Time flies, you will graduate in no-time.
You could probably get A's in all four of your classes if you put your mind to it.

Also procrastination is a bitch, it's best to get thangs done ASAP, so that they are out of the way.
This helps reduce stress which can be detrimental to your overall grades.

Yea that's what us people that fuck up a semester have to do. I feel you on that. Even though mine is a 2.8 at this point i'm pretty much in your shoes just i've gotten my gpa back up some. I've had 6 semestors, 4 recovering for my shitty first year.

I feel this is one of those things that you really learn by failure like a bitch sometimes. If you're someone who cares about having a degree failing a semestor will either make you drop out or scare you straight.

At least that's how it seems to me.

Luckily I only failed one class, speech.  It wasn't even my fault, I missed a presentation date so it brought my grade down just low enough to fail and it couldn't be made up.

The grade was replaced though so it didn't screw my GPA.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.  :twobooks:

I fucking hate presentations. I hate when you start the semester with 5 people in your group, then by the time shit is due, it is down to 2 or 3 people.

booedock- yeah, since I am retaking 3 classes that I had 0's in, my GPA should come up to about a 2.5 hopefully, maybe a 2.8.. I am just hoping I can work my ass off a little bit this semester and get er' done

I don't have my schedule in front of me, but it's something like this:

Monday: Natural Media Illustration 12-4, Digital Illustration 4-8
Tuesday: Design Intermediate 8-12
Wednesday: Interactive Design 8-12, Time Money And Management 12-3, Psychology GenEd class (I forget how long it is)
Thursday: Digital Applications 8-12

The rest will be lab time for homework/projects. With about 25 hours a week of work on top of that, it's gonna be a busy semester.

Graphic Design. It's a shitton of work with the time it takes to complete projects + the amount of projects, but I enjoy doing it (mostly) so it's alright.  :sunny:
