For mushroom growing I just used wild bird seed when I was doing it It was easiest for me to get in my area and worked really wel I too, used some of those very threads to learn to grow shrooms! I've grown on wbs,HS,brf, rye, coir, and I've never really noticed any significant change in potency at all, but that's just me. I can't speak for a bunch of other people. Good luck!

They were white when making a spore print or white inside the syringe? If they were white inside the syringe, they probably just germinated inside there and you were seeing mycelium

Im confused, what was white? I am assuming/guessing that it is just germinated spores and if thats the case, your jars will prolly just colonize faster. Can you get a pic?

No, if it was germinated spores that was causing the "white" It would be fluffy cottony looking and would definitely cause the colonization to go faster because they are already germinated and automatically go into colonization mode. It's not a theory, people do it all the time by making liquid cultures.
I can't make out anything in the pics of the syringes, but that second post looks like green shit to me. I would throw it away and not think about it any more. Where'd ya get your spores from?
So it doesn't seem much like mycelium, but more like paper or some other type of something from what the spore print was on when they made the spore syringe. But that's a complete guess.

If you got the spores from sporeworks, you got them from a TOP NOTCH vendor for sure! I would say your syringes are 100% viable and contam free if that's where they are from!

I've ordered from drchronic, attitude, seedboutique, and bcbd, and I had not one problem with any of them, but one. You can guess which one that was.... bcbd! I was ripped off over 250 bucks and basically told that they sent it and what happened after that was my problem. It's a long story that Im not gettin into cuz it happened so long ago, but I wouldn't order from them if there were no seeds left on the planet but there!

Get some sticky fly strips, NOT the kind that contain poisons, just the kind that are sticky. Thats just my preference, some people dont mind poisons in their rooms, I however will not put poisons in my room. I would rather lose a crop to infestation then put poisons in with my product, I wont put anything in the tent unless I would smoke the end product as well.

I forget which ones I had gotten when I needed them, all I know is it said it was just sticky with some type of bait. And others listed there was some type of poison in it so I didnt get those. I mean it's not like the things emit a poison or anything, I just didnt want the sticky stuff to accidentally touch a bud etc etc.

I hung them in each corner of the tent and one above the light and each one was catching them. After a while I didn't need them any more, but I also stopped using soil completely. I tried getting as close to the plants as possible without touching them and I think I even put one down on the top of the pots and wrapped it around to touch the top of each pot.I did wait quite a while before I actually did anything about the flies because they weren't harmful, just annoying as hell. But those traps definitely took care of the problem

Dimo, looks like your water is probably about a ph of 6.4 according to This But I'm sure it varies a bit. But yeah, I would definitely pick up some drops while you wait for the shipment. Also, I would use distilled water before I used spring water.

When you flushed, how much water came out the bottom of the pots?

You need to flush more then, that's not enough IMO. I am not a soil grower, but I started in soil so have a little bit of experience so I may be wrong. But I personally, if flushing, would want at least 2-3 times the size of the container to actually come out the bottom of the pot. If little to no water comes out when you flush, then you haven't really "flushed" anything out. Can you get some full plant shots and some close up of the leaves? But flush more first!

I also should mention that when watering, I always watered slowly until water started dripping out the bottoms and would continue watering a little while after that. When I first grew, I tried a few different methods and just saturating the soil and stopping before water came out the bottom I noticed problems arose quickly in those plants.

That kind of usage would run me about 130 bucks a month if running it 12 hours a day for 30 days. If you're not using anything else at the site then that usage is pretty low.
As for 2 elbows for 4 400 watters, He is definitely getting the better end of the deal by FAR! My god dude, your end product should be around 3-4 grand a lb. Not to mention, you will need much more then just the 4- 400 watt lamps, ventilation, nutes, electric consumption, etc etc.
edit, just realized you mentioned the ventilation etc etc with the 4 lights my bad. But I would still not do it. There is no guarantee that you will pull that your first go around, and friends become enemies quick if they become greedy and 9 times out of ten......in this game.....they will..........especially if they are not the one growing and know where the grow is at,they start feeling entitled to the fruits of YOUR labor. Add THEIR money to the situation and it makes it even worse. Its A TERRIBLE idea in MY opinion.

Are they black or purple? In the past, if I handled mine VERY rough before they were dry they would sometimes look black but were actually blue/purple. I never shared those ones tho because I didn't want people thinking it was normal for them to be that color.
It could just be bruising or it could be the wrong type of shroom or even mold. We would have to have pics to tell more tho Are the caps black too? I've never managed to bruise my caps and no matter what color the stems are my caps are still always the same.

A pyrex bake around is a good start for a DIY cool tube Also, you can get 400 watters designed for gardens with remote ballasts and reflectors for equal and less then the price you posted
