So today is day 52 of Flowering. I'm estimating a week to go. I plan to flush in 3-4 days and take it day by day after that. There are amber trics forming but not very many yet. I just though I would share this best part (the end) with everyone.
Enjoy

Yes, she does have a nice tree trunk. I can't wait to saw threw it.

I have never smelled the origianl ak-47 so I can't compare. She did most of her vegging during my last grow, so the wait was not as long as you would think. I'm doing the same thing with my next grow.
These are 4 clones from the beautiful Lady pictured above 2 in each planter. I have been training them for 1 1/2 months or so.

I bought 5 Fem ak-48 seeds several months back. I grew out 4 of them on my last grow, and a few of them were very stinky (earthy smell, earthy light berry flavor). I chose to clone the above pheno because it seemed to be the strongest all around plant. It has proven to be far less smelly than my last grow, but still has a very earthy smell to it with hints of skunk. I can't wait to trim it and get hit in the face with the smell! This pheno also seems to have more sativa characteristics than my last grow. By this time last grow, 3 of my 4 plants had 10-15 % amber trichs. I'm at 1-5% right now. The pistols on this pheno are also a lot more of an orange color.

This is my first real SCROG. I dabbled in it last grow, but it was not proper. The results are proving to be awesome. My last grow netted me 89.8 grams from 4 plants. We shall see what these 3 ladies give me. I expect at least 100 grams from my big girl and at least an ounce from my 2 clones in the same pot. I think CFL's and SCROG go well together. You can keep the lights close to the plants. I know I could get even more with a HID, but my tiny cab can not take the heat.

Day 183 Day 56 of Flowering Week 8 complete
Ok for sure I will flush tomorrow. I will then chop 4-7 days later. I'm at about 10-15% amber trichs. I threw in some pics with the ruler to give some perspective. I just need the pistols on the tops of the buds to turn...
My large Lady has about 75 2-3 inch buds on her. My 2 clones have about 21 2.5-3.5 inch buds. all popcorn will be thrown in with the trim for making hash.
Anyone venture a guess at final weight?

If I am correct, when using soil you might want to flush 2 or 3 times during the final week. I would venture to guess you yield about 8 Oz.

I like your guess! I'm going to guess 5-6 but closer to 5. I have kind of been slow flushing them. The last water I gave them a few days ago was a heavy watering, got about 50% runoff. I will flush for about 4-5 hours tonight with 15 gallons of RO water.

@_@ that looks amaizing. One thing I dont get though, in the pics the lights are not visible. do you keep them more then 3 in. away or did you pick them up for a better picture? I keep mine 1-2in. Away (also around 400 watts, but in 8sq. ft.), is that too close?
Not the clearest pic., I use Y sockets, but its 1-2in. On all sides.

you shouldn't use translucent containers. it's not good for the roots to be exposed to light(or so I've heard).

Right, someone already told me. I decided to transplant early; nice big square pots. I put foil on for now. I would keep it on for slightly more light, but my fan blows streight at the pots, and at night the sound seems really loud.

My lights are currently 10-12 inches away. We have had 60+ days of 100 degree temps during the summer. I can not keep them any closer and keep the temps under 85. During the winter I usually keep them 6-8 inches from the tops.

Speaking of hash...
Pic 1. 3.7 grams of Silk Screen Hash Pic 2. 4.2 grams of ISO Hash
The shitty thing is, on my ISO hash, I could not get the lid off my mason jar, so I only got to run the bud and trim once.

Used all the frosty trim and popcorn buds from this grow, no larger fan leaves. I don't let my trim cure or save it up for large hash runs. I did not get a weight, I would guess around an ounce or a bit more of material was used. I rubbed it across a silk screen first, then took the leftover material and did an ISO run.
I also took a hand full of some of the better Popcorn buds to smoke the next few days.

Final weights are in...
2 clones in one 2 gallon pot, Ladybug Organic Garden Soil
The Big Lady in 5 gallon pot, FFOF
+
So Big Lady = 89.2 g and 2 clones = 43.7 g
TOTAL =132.9 up from 89.8 last grow 4.66 oz .33 g per watt up from .28 last grow
The clones did very well in the Ladybug soil which is only $8 bucks a bag where as the FFOF is $27 per bag. The clones were the most fat. In the defense of the FFOF, I did not properly break up the root ball when I transplanted from 1.5 gallon to 5 gallon. The clones had better root space. I will change in coming grows to Ladybug soil...

muse42, how is the odor issue for you with this strain? and if problematic, did you use any countermeasures? btw--very nice grow with excellent results w/ CFL. i have always used MH and HPS for full grows, so it is nice to see this combo with CFL. also much cheaper on the electric bill and less heat buildup.

This pheno did not have a strong smell, but my last grow which was a few different AK 48 phenos reeked! I have a store bought carbon scruber, the smallest I could find, in my cab.
Thanks to all for the kind remarks! I will smoke it today for the first time, and post my thoughts on it tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I have been smoking it all morning and prepping for the next grow.
I think it has a kerosene like, clean soapy taste. The big girl leans to the soapier side whereas the clones to the kerosene side.
Do you think the slight difference could be do to the longer veg time of the big girl. Also, is it true that clones flower faster than seed grown plants? Would my clones have been a few days ahead of the big girl?
after 2 small cones, I'm high as fuck It's a good mix of energy and laziness... I'm listening to my mp3 on shuffle whilest I clean.
Playlist:
Radiohead Phantogram James Blake Local Natives Crystal Castle Ashes of Babylon Bird and the Bee Panda Bear
I cleaned my cab with a bleach water mix 20/80. I wiped down the entire interior. I put a fresh coat of paint on the cab and threw up a new web. I washed with soap and bleach water, my drain tubs and plastic grating that my pots sit on. I gave my plastic hood a good clean with windex. I cleaned out my cab fan with compressed air. Put a new 2 layer panty hose filter on my intake duct. Secured all my duct seals with more tape. Tested my 2 fire extinguishers.
Plants go in tomorrow.
